would anyone know what the formula would be the rpd uses to calculate hp

 

(Rpm x torque)/ 5252 will give you horsepower. I'm guessing the computer would use that standard formula

 

I know that, but iv been trying to get a sensor in hptuners that gives me a torque reading but non of them work. so how does it get the torque reading? I hope it doesn't go off maf cause that's highly inaccurate.

 

Work and energy. Most likely the same way a dyno computes hp and tq.
