3rd gear blew while dynoing with zzp s256et kit on race gas. Power around 480whp and 420wtq and climbing at 29psi on 114 octane. A loud BAM! And then no 3rd gear. Sent them an email requesting a new 4.45 trans. Hope they come through.
im trying to get one too lol. i dont think they are doing them anymore though. pushing that F40 now which is mad expensive lol.
Yeah. But you gotta pay to play. For sure this car sees 500whp and 1/4 mile days so I'm not replacing the trans with an OEM unit. Its gotta be tough. Speaking to zzp/Powell/mongorat about sourcing parts and options before i lay down the dough.
this is true, id rather keep the 5spd though lol. i dont want the F40 so hopefully i can find a 4.45 F35
i myself had thought about the 4.45, but the 6speed is only about 500-1000 more depending on where you get your f40 from and what kinda deal you get on it. and with the nice tight gearing, spooling quick at just about any mph, and the power holding capabilities. i'm leaning more and more towards the 6speed each time i think about it.
I was told the gearing ratios of the f40 might not be ideal for drag.
Monograt told me the gear ratios from the older f40s and not the reveals are a bit better. I can't see how it would improve et speeds from the 4.45 only worsen. I dunno. Maybe I am overt think ng **** lol

Yeah I never thought it would happen on a dyno. It was funny as hell though. I was just bragging about how stout my car had been and how it had no problems after taking a beating for 4 years lol. The next pull - BAM!
Problem is, it always tends to happen when you least expect it.
I'd remembered hearing from Tim/zzp that you can pop your third on a dyno and or go WOT in a lower rpm for some cars making over 400whp. He warned me of that...
