having the MAF sensor down there is a BAD idea, increased chance of tripping the sensor and ending up in L.I.M.P. mode.

I am not sure if relocation is good or bad. As long as it works, I don't see anything wrong with it?

The reason why they did it was to adjust the MAF readings to "self tune" the ECU... That is AEMs statement, if we remember correctly....

You have to think:
AEM would have saved money by not relocating it, as now they need to add in the kit, the wire harness extension... So there was a good reason they did it, at least you would think...

please explain tripping the sensor to me. I was not aware it would trip?

do you mean for the sensor to read more air than is coming into the engine

It is actually a very good thing because it decrease your MAF error % and your likelyhood of your car running like crap because you are keeping the same distance between the MAF and the filter. That is the reason they designed it that way. CAI with MAF in the stock location means the need for MAF retuning to be done. Ask GTPrix he had to redo his MAF tables. A SRI or a CAI with the MAF relocated is the way to go IMHO.

Agreed, as long as tested proved it should be relocated, and with the AEM design obviously it is a good idea...

Again, AEM did not re locate it for "nothing" there is a reason.

The gmpp cai for the solstice gxp relocates the maf sensor right beside the filter, gm moves it for good reason.

Nope, had mine for almost a week now and no problems at all. And unlike all the other intakes AEM includes the correct fitting for the pcv hose so it won't come off. Also the stock bpv in now a lot louder and sounds sweet
