AEM Wideband Gauge
AEM Wideband Gauge
so quick question...
i want to get an AEM wideband gauge
i thought i would just be able to splice into the current sensor, but the gauge comes with another sensor, is that the correct way to do it? (another o2 sensor)
thanks guys

you can tap into ur current one but it comes with everything to have a shop weld in the extra bung i just added the bung didnt want to splice ny wires it was only $20 bucks for me. alot easier n time saving IMO.
Lol did this and its a PITA. Just easier to watch afrs when driving rather than looking down at a scanner all the time. And cant data log with ezflash and use a scan gauge at the same time.

i mean, sheet i have hptuners, so i can look at it when i'm not driving...BUT yeah lol i can't be looking over my shoulder trying to look at the laptop when i'm pulling on down the highway lol
Yea its just nice to have the gauge there. Even thought the tuner can read the afrs its just nice to see them.
honestly, i'm in love with it. you would never ever ever ever ever regret buying it, unless you wanted to be loud as f**k all the time, then go RFL. but the FL is great, i love it. great tone, good price, looks good too!
Attempting to tune using a wideband gauge without other graphs is hopeless. That's 1990's right there. Live in the past if you like. The smart thing to do is log, and then postmortem using HP Tuner, or your choice of scanner that can log AFR, fueling error, timing, knock, etc.
What is it that you hope to learn by having a wideband and no other data?

try these. take some time to install and are fun.
home link auto dimming mirror. (If u dont care for onstar) - this one i did and love it.
reverse camera if u have touchscreen deck - did this one to. love it
thinking bout doing a keyless engine start button. found a good kit for 450.
also may, may do a keypad ignition cut. where u have to enter 4-6 digit code for ur key or start button to be able to start the car.
got a few other ideas in my head, but those are the ones im pondering lol
ya i guess. but how do u get the sensor close enough to the engine, the further away it is the less accurate it is.
I just emailed ZZP and and asked them and they just told me to get the extra 02 bung. Im thinkin about asking my tuner what the afrs are reading in the log just to see how similar they are. Even though I wont beable to compare them exactly at certain rpms but I can see if there in the same area. I cant imagine they would be that inaccurate. Like I said im just trying to learn this is my first boosted car and trying to understand the tuning process.
