Aftermarket LNF Forged Pistons

Am I loosing my mind, or wasn't there a thread on here about some a few months ago? I can't seem to find any info on them.

Help?

PS- I did lots of searching before this post.

i read that also but his disproved it

There was also some technology carried over from the LSJ that will still be used in the LNF. The most important piece of retained technology is the Oil Sprayers which place a high pressure oil-jet directly underneath the piston to maintain proper lubrication during high RPMs, and to help cool the piston by delivering a constant stream of oil to attract heat away from the piston itself. GM also retained the Forged Steel Crank shaft and Connecting Rods, which make the bottom end of the motor capable of more horsepower than the stock turbocharger can deliver.

The unfortunate decision that was carried over from the LSJ is the use of cast pistons. It is unclear why the designers would invest money in using forged internal components

Uhhh I'm no mechanic but what does the strength of the piston have to do with the flow restriction of the DI?????

He's just speculating that only the fuel and pistons are holding things back.

I doubt the pistons are really that big of an issue, I mean they are the same as the lsj and people are getting what type of numbers with them?

They are not the same as the LSJ, although their construction is similiar. The LSJ pistons have gone as high as 415 whp, but have failed on completely stock vehicles as well, so, that's not a good guide.

Sure it is. And what makes you say they are not the same?

Do you see the picture at the begining of this thread? The LSJ pistons do not look like that. LSJ does not have direct injection, so it has no need to have contours in the piston to help atomize fuel.

I'm not 100% sure if you can get LNF pistons from them but JE made the pistons for GM Racings 747 HP 2.0 Ecotec drag engine. You'd probably have to contact them to find out. They're not exactly what you would call a hot item. They used a STOCK block, girdle, crank to 500hp, and pretty much everything else to around 350HP. STOCK head to 650HP. So I would think if the stock parts can handle HP north of 500 HP it can handle pretty much anything you can throw at it. And, by the way, this was in 2002. Some of the parts they used in the high HP versions were very possibly carried over to the LNF.

Uh yeah I do because I posted it, so they modified the top portion of the piston for DI, the type of piston is the same.

Show me an lsj piston

yep, i at first wanted them to put on the GT30, since it was an option, but i wanted quick spool up, and something bigger, so i had them put on the S20G.. its similar in size to a GT2871R, and it has a unique sound when it's spooling up.. as of right now,,, for a lil bit, i'm runnin 15 psi on it, and eh,, like, cruisin around, 3rd gear, i mash it,, it starts spoolin quick around 2900 rpm, spikes to 21 psi at 4500, and comes back to settle down at 15 psi while crankin out some massive put you in the seat power... it doesnt whistle like a GT, or Turbonetics, it sounds like just a pure rush of air at first, then it beasts up and gets to soundin like a turbine engine on a jet...... its awesome!! very different sound to experience, and it's addicting lol... their BOV is awesome as well, it may be a recirc system, but it...is...LOUD!!!!! my buddies have heard me driving around 2 or 3 blocks away, and they say its clearly audible...

Ours are a lot beefier than the LSJ axels. They are just as big as the front CV axels on my GMC pickup.
