Air to Water Intercoolers?

So i was thinking the other day about intercooler upgrades and am wondering if anybody has considered an air to water intercooler? You can get a lot more cooling out of one of those units in less space than an air to air intercooler takes up. I found one site right off the bat that has some universal applications. Pretty interesting stuff there including Nordskog Gauges. Never heard of them until now but they are worth a peak too, they're pretty advanced. Here is the link for their website. I recommend you take a look.

for the lnf ss i'm assuming...?

it would require a **** ton of work to change out the stock air-air to air-water, and you probably wouldn't see too much benefit from it vs just getting a bigger air-air intercooler

just keep the system you got and upgrade it

It would'nt be much work at all. If your serious pm me and we'll talk. Id use BOTH, since there is ample room. When your at the track you can load the tank with icewater. BIG powergains.
Or like I did in our MR2 project the cores get hit with CO2 from a cryo systm instead of water. Makes his car snort like a dragon..

And Dont buy cheap chinease crap knockoffs. We have seen cores from them that have as much as 20 (!!) psi drop(@ 75lbs/min flow for a supposed 1000hp core). most of them are around a 4-5psi drop even at moderate flows.

I have seen some pretty cool setups myself including a unit full of dry ice on a turboed 22re out of a drag 240sx. Pretty cool but I plan on keeping mine stock. Just wanted to through this idea out there and see if people have considered it. Thanks for the input. Who knows though, maybe down the road I will switch to a drag/track only setup, then this would be cool to do.

can you provide a mock-up diagram of what an installed dual-intercooler system would look like?

intake > compressor > air to air IC > air to water IC > intake manifold.

... no diagram...
It's all custom piping, so there isn't any 'proper' routing to follow.... just the outline stated above.
