ALL manufacturers of MAF relocate
Why do you not include a premade gasket for the maf sensor?
I just kind of blew it off when i got the cold side a while back, and made a little crappy rubber gasket. It worked for a while but after meeting up with SSlobalt yesterday afternoon and hooking up his homemade boost checker to 26 psi on his compressor we realized that the boost leaks I thought I had created when i put my hot side on a few weeks ago with bov, was not the culprit.
We felt it was leaking around the tb, the maf sensor and the ma sensor.
Wasn't really sure if it was the also the tb, but either way we took everything off.
Went to autozone and got some fiber gasket maker, some red hightemp rtv and fixed the issue.
Then we put the cold side back on with new clamps, etc and fixed all the boost issues.
now my only issue is i need to get new screws that will hold the map down because the ones cia sent didn't even fit the threading right and weren't tight.
Sellers of the maf sensor relocate seriously need to consider making a gasket.
I shouldn't have the create my own and put rtv to make a proper seal.
without the rtv the gasket maker stuff I used still didn't 100% seal it, but now it is.
Thats retarded.
Thanks again to SSlobalt for helping me out for hours last night to get all the seals perfect, and the cold side back in. Was a pain in the ass especially in the dark with no lights. I really appreciate the help.

I'm talking about the MAF, the one that goes into your stock airbox, or in your case hahn intake.
It doesn't have a gasket, because it reads metered air and there is no need for a great seal because it isn't compressed boost.
When you move it to the cold side with the MAF relocate it reads boost.
It needs a gasket.

cool.
however i've read plenty of people talking about having boost issues with it there.
a friend of my conroycavscout also had the exact same issue a while back.
every manu should make a gasket for it.
every manu uses the same pad.
it should come with a gasket.
mine was fine for months, up until the past week.

i just checked both my MAF sensors, the one that went and my new one. both have a black rubber gasket at the base of it. and the other sensor is not your map sensor, that is on the top of your intake manifold, it is a measured air meter or something like that, 114 from autozone if you blow one.

i remember pulling out the maf sensor once to take a pic of it and i never saw a gasket before.

ok dude, i just bought all new sensors, according to the gm part number 12592017, it is "SENSOR INT AIR PRESS & TEMP," and is located on the cold pipe. The map sensor i bought gm part number 12592016 was installed onto the top of the intake manifold, lemme find a pic

well even with your gasket you still had the leak.
and i've heard of several other people having the same issues. mostly just people pm'ing me about the maf relocate.

thats cuz only 3 sides of the gasket stayed on after we tightened it down, never had any issues after i sealed it with rtv. i didnt use any with my new maf and the stock gasket is working just as good.
