Any Hahn Coolram Owners Switch To K&N SRI

Was just curious if any1 using this intake make the switch. I have an older model which is causing turbulance an minor driveabilty issues. I am prolly gonna get the k&n but it just had a ? about the switch. I like the sound of the stock bpv with the hahn, just curious if the k&n makes a similar sound. I just dont want to lose the sound because i dont want to drop the cash on a atmospheric bov an chargepipe with a flange imo its a waste of money just to make noise. Any input would be great.

Yes the Hahn does have some turbulence over the MAF but it is tunable. I would get Trifecta or HP Tuners and just tune for the intake because the Hahn is a good intake when properly tuned for and isn't worth selling IMO when you can make it work.

The K&N might actually make the BOV a little louder because the intake is shorter.

Like the other guys said though, spend the money you're going to spend on the K&N and buy a tune to fix the Hahn issues. You'll gain a ton of power in the process.

Nope cannot be tuned out, tried for 3 hours driving, logging, and change the tables blah blah. No rookie hereIts pretty wicked turbulance. I will prolly buy it anyways and see what happens soundwise.

There's plenty of people using them just fine. I have one myself and the MAF trims are rock solid.

To the OP, below is a link to a SS/TC revving with a K&N. Should give you some idea of how it sounds with the stock bpv.

What are the fuel trims like on the K&N? Mine are +10 LTFT and +5 to -6 STFT. STFT's seem to be erratic.

BTW, I have the hahn cool ram...

They are close to zero if installed properly on the K&N. Some rotate the cone filter to tune them a bit.

I know this has been debated over an over, but im goin to ask it again. Since the lnf underhood temps are higher than most cars woodnt a sri be sukin in that hot air hurt performance opposed to a true cai. I understand that the air gets thrown through the intercooler and gets cooled anyway. It would make the intercoolers job easier, not having to cool hotter air. Just trying to make up my mind as to what im going to do, im trying to sqeeze as much power out of the car as i can w/o swappin turbos for the time being

Thats only true if the car is sitting still. When the car moves the Air temps get alot cooler for SRI's. They appear stock when cruising.

SRI's stay drier in the rain than CAI's with the hole over the top of the foglight. I had both types. I'll keep the SRI. The Hahn and AEM CAI's heat soaked the IAT1's in traffic also.

Should I rotate my filter and see if that helps? As it is, I'm going to put a spectre oil-less filter on there because my accident destroyed my filter...

you guys shouldnt need to worry about cai vs sri. the underhood temps dont matter. the air is still going to go thru that turbo and get hot as all hell, then go thru the intercooler. im whatever temperture diffrence between the cai and sri wont matter. it only matters on n/a and s/c applications.
