Anyone here running with an e-cut out?

Was curious if it would be a good bolt-on for our LNF motors. Is it beneficial? Would we need to retune for it if we had it installed? Also, which brand is good? Thanks for any comment's in advance as I'm currently thinking of this as my next option to improve performance.

Most people on here will tell you with stock turbo they're just noisemakers. I've got a y-pipe on my downpipe that I've opened a couple times at the track and it seemed to pull harder up top but who knows(never dynoed).

If you are looking for a noise maker yes. If you are looking for a exhaust mod that will actually do something get a downpipe and tune. I'm sure on higher hp/bigger turbo applications it might show gains top side.

on the stock turbo they are not beneficial at all. so it serves a purpose of a noise maker.....

i forget the name of the company but they have a lifetime warrenty so get those...qtps are good but the warrenty sucks

Like Omiotek said, they're completely useless from a performance standpoint on the stock turbo. This goes beyond anyone's personal opinion on the matter.

I already have those! LOL The only thing is that I got the catted downpipe because of the strict emissions control out here in CA. But thanks for the help anyways. I know this is dumb but I can't help but wonder how would you know if it's beneficial or not. I guess the only way to truly know is if someone here who has it got it dynoed. Anyone?

I wouldn't do it unless you're on a bigger turbo.

There is a vendor on here that was offering them at one time. I had pm'ed the guy to see if they could combine a downpipe with a y and the boost activated cutout never heard anything but I was considering running on my lsj way back when

I just put my e-cutout on last week. i'm on a t67/25G turbo tho so it's considerably larger than stock turbo. I haven't dyno'd with it closed and opened yet to see if there's a horsepower different, but getting on it with it closed and open it definitely feels noticeably faster but that could just be the more aggressive loud effect. tho I did pulls with the windows up to try an focus on the feel of the difference and not the sound of the difference. regardless I like having the ability to push a button down for about 5 seconds and completely change the sound of my car from quiet to really loud. also with it open I get an extremely loud turbo whistle which is probably my most favorite change with the cutout.

on another note with stock turbo. I've heard with an e-cutout on stock turbo you'll ruin the seals because it's such a small turbo it requires a certain amount of back pressure. with the cutout open the backpressure won't be there for it and could potentially ruin your turbo seals quite rapidly.

Would love to have one for the ability to make added noise.

But would a quality setup last a few years with salty cold winters?
