Anyone Install Racing Seats with a Racing Harness?
Hello everyone,
Just wondering if there are any tc owners who have installed non oem racing seats and racing harnesses on their car. While the stocks seats are nice, they aren't really made for after market harnesses, which are nice for track days and autox.
Would also be interested to hear how people got around the airbag sensors and seatbelt chime.
Thanks in advance! Tried searching but couldn't really find any concrete answers.

u forgot to mention the sexiest recaros u cant get anymore... yes.. jealous.. i searched everywhere for those discontinued beauties lol
thanks dude....they were discontinued wheni got htem....they were a return for shipping damage.....bought the replacement parts from recaro. the tweed was undamaged
The seat sensor is called the passenger pressence and i put it in the passenger seat and it funstions 100% normally
As for the OEM seat belts they have a air bag senson and can not be removed or the air bag light will be forever on soooo what i did was i removered the rear quarter trim panels and very neatly placed the belts behind the panel so they wont make noise adn damage the belt and wont cause the air bag light to come on.

Also, I am not sure if I follow you correctly on the second part. So essentially you left the front seat belts in, you just hid them behind the interior trim? Again, could you elaborate?
Thanks again!
No sensor for the drivers seat just the seatbelt one....only reason there's one on the ps seat is to switch the airbag on and off when there is and isn't a passenger so if you crash with no passenger the bag wont go off
Very interested to hear how you would transfer that sensor to a new seat.
I have aftermarket seats....they aren't hard to take apart but if you have never done it have a professinal install the stuff. every seat is different though and has its own thing to take it apart
I don't see how anyone could damage the original seats. Was very simple. The belt buckles come out with a torx bit and the rest you just need to undo a few things.

Before anyone reading this thread decides to do something as horribly reckless as installing fixed seats and/or harnesses in a car without a rollbar, google a bit and learn how many guys have been KILLED at track days from doing something like this. Harnesses without a rollbar can kill you, the factory seatbelts in the car, as well as the seats, are designed so you have less of a chance of being crushed during the event of a rollover, they give your body somewhere to go. I won't even get into the guys running 4 pts. out there with no crotch strap. Your car is safer from the factory than having some silly harness bar in it (especially when it is mounted WAY too high).
I remember when I ran a Redline TT at BR back in '06, they made guys remove the harnesses from cars with no rollbars before they would even let them on the track.
