Attn people with second ecu..need help
i dont think a vin would make a difference at all. the vin only really matters if you bring it to a dealer. it could not be tuned to the 09 tune. because i herd the 08's and 09's have different tunes. that could be the problem. id wait to here from gtp and then if he dont give you an anser id would see if a member on here that works for gm would flash the seondary ecu to the stock tune.
when you re connect the battery and put the key into the ignition if you turn it to the "on" position but don't start it let the pump run until it stops. for some reason mine will run for over a minute before the first startup. after it is done doing its thing it won't make anymore noise and then you can crank it over like normal. I wouldn't advise cranking it over while you can hear the pump making all that noise.
here is what my buddy told me to do and he is a head mechanic at his shop.
1. diconect the pos lead of the battery
2. disconnect the neg lead of the battery
3. disconnect the edu
4. replace the ecu and hook it in real good
5. wait 10 minutes
6. hook on the negative lead
7. hook on the pos lead
8. put the cars key to aac for 30 secs
9. turn the key off and take it out
10. crank it up
11. let it idle for 10 mins
12. take for a test ride
