Yeah..
As far as what I can see CIA and Hahn are very similar and the best quality. That's not only the SS material and finsh/welds/O2 bungs used, but the flex pipe section and the cat itself. I figure it's better to spend and extra $100 or so to get the best ( I'm looking at catted pipe).

Ah, thought you were going catless. You could have also looked at mandrel exhaust. Their dp looks like pretty good quality but their catback doesn't. Their welds are also wider and about as neatly done as hahns. The flex pipe also looks to be of good quality. But only a buyer can tell the truth of that dp.

Mandrel

Hahn:

Hahn looks better all over including flex section. Also has angled bung port (to avoid cels).
Hahn is about $125 more..worth it if you're gonna have this for years.

The MPx doesn't have an angled o2 bung? That would make me go elsewhere . Anyone looking for a DP would be foolish not to consider a ZZP product ..... Look what they have done for the cobalt .

Go to local muffler shop. 60 bucks+8 bucks for O2 fouler= 3 inch stainless steel catless downpipe in less than 1 hour. Any decent shop will be able to make one.

These things have the simplest design, why else would there be a million and one companies making them?

Its about flow, ur muffler guy is going to crush bend the piping. U no longer have 3" piping at each bend. Now if u happen to be lucky enough to find a mendrel bent place that would be sweet but most of ur regular old muffler places dont do that. especially for 60 bucks

i have a quick question that i dont feel like i need to make another thread for, but i live in cali and i was wondering would a catted dp even pass smog here since it only has one instead of two? because if it wont i would just save my money and get a catless one and switch it out when i have to smog it.

Since you're only going to do it every 2 years..may as well swap. It's not a big deal.
That way you know for sure you're gonna pass. You could also get catted and have em run a *pre test*. I think it *should* pass. If you fail...swap. Also, car will be a bit quieter with cat on.

The degree at the bend on our downpipes is actually quite easy to replicate. If you are that worried about .2 inches of diameter lost, simply buy a stainless steel elbow online and be done with it.

People need to learn that they are JUST pipes, not complex circuitry.

Agreed....... after having a catless DP for the last year ......I prolly should have went catted . My car is just a touch too loud for my taste . I bet a hi-flow cat would quiet it down to where i want it . I might just have a local shop add one in the near future
