Best Intake for GMS1

Curious which intake would be best for gm tune for reliable maf readings. Also has anyone on here installed a honey comb into their intake before the maf?

Gms1 won't really allow you to get anything out of an aftermarket intake so stay with stock.

I thought learn down was gone with gms1? Assuming you have to get a custom tune for the intake to see any gains?

K&N is about the only one. It has been proven many times on this forum that the K&N intake, with a properly clocked filter, keeps ltft within +/- 6%. If you dig up the old threads from when the K&N first came out, there were some who went and dyno'd right away with it to see what it was worth. One guy only had the GMS1 and the K&N intake and dyno'd nearly 280 whp.

Yeah the k&n is the best, also for other turbos if ur curious and it sounds the best haha just grab a k&n, idk why ppl are saying it won't help it definitely has a impact on the higher rpm rang and spool of the turbo. But your stock airbox with flow just fine your gms1 tune. If u plan to get a custom tune later definitely pick 1 up.

I think I'll go with k&n then. I'll monitor fuel trims before and after installing a honeycomb and see if that helps.

K&N is fine if you rotate the filter to the 11 or 1 oclock position. My fuel trims were within 3% and I consider that pretty damn good considering that's with varying gas mixtures.

Yeah fuel trims will be alright. I've had stock, k&n drop got tuned for that, then added a zzp tube which was cool. Then a k&n and my fuel trims look the same as they always did for the last 2.5 years 12.0 at wot start up 14.7 then, Cruzin it moves the same as it always did mostly 14,s but moves 13-15. Bottom Line u will be fine but u should get tuned later for adjusting the little bit it's off, get a forge bpv too it adds a way better sound! GL!

While I agree that the K&N is great, that's not technically fuel trims. That's just AFR and the computer will always compensate to bring the AFR where it's supposed to be, that's the fuel trims

I'd like to do that for the signature ppffsh, but its not worth the money to me to convert from bpv to bov. Esp since Ill be happy enough with gms1. Thanks guys, I appreciate the input.

True. I was just ment that the afr was the same which affects fuel trims.

I also have the K&n. I bought one after reading some good feedback from other members here, and I got a fair price from Cold Air Intakes|4WO before. So far, have no problems with this intake.

Best Intake for GMS1

I have a modded stock intake box with a zzp upgraded tube and a k&n drop in and a forge bpv and my friend said he could hear my turbo spool up on the highway when I floored it. I'm on GMS1
