To answer your question I'm gonna say HPT if you have somebody that knows what they're doing...there are a couple of very good tuners on here that can def. help you out

HP Tuners is the best route to take IMO. Only go Trifecta if there are no hpt tuners near you.

Is hpt hard to do buy yourself and is it that much better than trifecta I was debating trifecta because they have the stealthtune I don't think hpt has something like that do they

If you have hpt u can just flash it back to stock. It takes like 18-19 seconds for it to write in the tune.

And if you bought hpt Im sure any tuner would help u out.

GM will void the warranty if the tune is what caused the problem, if the tune didn't cause the problem then they cannot legally void the warranty. I think that since each car is different, the settings will be different, but I'm not 100% sure.

Any aftermarket part you put on ur car can technically void your warranty. But if u go in for warranty work just flash back to stock! They wont know.

If you break something because of your mods don't count on getting it fixed under warranty. If they feel like looking they will find what you did.

I just had my car in for warranty work about 2 weeks ago. My uncles buddy is a mechanic there, he knew what I had done to the car. I asked him for ***** and giggles to see if he can tell I had my car tuned before. I did a write entire before I went in with my stock tune and they couldnt find anything. So as far as Im concerned my dealer cant tell me my car has been tuned!

But hey every dealership is different I guess?

Hmm, I never told my dealer anything and they came and asked me if I had changed anything on the ECU and I told them I didn't and they said that's funny because it's been tampered with but they ignored it.

Idk dude, maybe he didnt do a write entire? Maybe my dude at the dealership is just blowin smoke up my ass? I just know that Ive never been busted for having a tune on my car. And I had a motor replaced with 7k miles on it due to a "bad oil ring from the factory". So idk lol

I had a bad tuner then so he probably didn't flash it back properly, I don't know. All I know is I definitely freaked out when he asked

Maybe your dealership just didn't feel like looking very hard since its your uncles buddy doing the work.

I doubt it, if he didnt feel like doing it he didnt have to. I told him I just wanted to know if they could know, and if he had other **** to do not to worry bout it. I doubt he would tell me he couldnt find anything just to screw me in the future.

Im just stating my experience with dealerships and having tunes. Never got busted for having one yet so like I said, Im not worried bout it lol

just an fyi.....a write entire is a total rewrite of the ecu. it is not a flash. they are using a tech 2 to see if there has been any flashes made to the ecu.

If you do a write entire the tune is undetectable by the dealership with a tech2 snapshot. now if they dig further they may find evidence but after a clear tech2 snapshot they really have no reason to. I know this from personal experience....if you don't believe this go do a search on the hptuners forum and see what others (reputable others) have to say about the whole deal as well.
