Im still new to tuning and all the options I have. I found this place sort of near by me http://www.nedyno.com/. Would I be better off getting hptuners and going to them to have a custom tune done? Like I said Im no completely sure how all this works.

I will be in Orlando FL on the weekend of February 28th. I will be there for two days doing Ecotec tuning. Are you close to Orlando?

I tune using the HPTuners software. You won't need to buy your own.

Nothing too crazy, because this car is my DD. Id like to eventually be somewhere in the low 300s for hp and mid 300s for tq. Im not trying to make the craziest SS/TC just a badass DD. Thats why Im not sure if it would just make more sense to go with Trifecta or another company like that versus getting a custom tune which im guessing would be much more expensive?

What other states are you traveling thru, or are you flying? And how much do you usually charge for a tune?

If you're just looking for low and mid 300's in the hp and tq department, just go with a couple bolt on's, i.e, intake and exhaust, and then get a tune from PsykoSteve or order one from Clear Image Auto, they use Trifecta, I believe the tune would be $250 or so. That would meet your hp and tq needs right there.

Depending on what tuning option you choose, it ranges from $200.00 to $250.00.

Yah thats what I was considering. My only concern is I want to make sure Im going to have a safe tune that is going to push the engine harder than it can handle.

well i figured you read the forum....but anyways the turbo looses efficiency after about 22psi, then past that you run the risk of the wheels in the turbo to start surging cause BAD DAMAGE, also this turbo is capable of withstanding 2000 degrees F worth of heat anything higher then 21-22psi is creating large and i mean large amounts of heat. it is a matter of time before things will go wrong, tell him to move it down to 22psi

not only that but the stock sensors don't let you hold over 23 psi for over like 5 seconds it'll throw you into over boost limp mode...

my suggestion is hook up with someone with hptuners.. like paul.. or go with the trifecta tune..

So are tunes like Trifecta's or psykosteve's safe. This is my main concern. I just dont want to tune my car to specs it wont be able to handle. Thats why I was considering just getting hptuners and having a local place do it so its in person. I guess I would feel more comfortable knowing what exactly is involved with these tunes. Like I said Im knew to the tuning business....considering my computerless vette haha.
