blocking off rear pcv

im looking at installing my gt3071 on my car in the next month or so, looking at zzps instructions they say to just block off the pcv port coming out of the center back of the valve cover...

im wondering are there any repercussions to doing this? just blocking off part of the pcv just seems wrong to me. should i just run a line from the dink to the intake? with or without check valve?

any input?

My understanding is that particular pcv line is supposed to provide vacuum even during positive boost from the turbo. So it is "redundant" in that sense, but if you block it off then you would potentially not have any crankcase ventilation under boost. Many other engines run that way.

Check valve allows air into the valve cover but can't suck any out. How would that pull vacuum?

Sorry, I assumed it was the one going to the turbo. So the one you're talking about is the one that goes to the intake? That's the fresh air inlet, so if you block that how would fresh air come in?

I must've skipped the other comment before. Sorry, it does look like they were lazy. I'd keep that line to the intake.

Don't block it off. Put a fitting with a check valve. I did mine with a piece of fine ss screen act as a filter so no dirt gets into your engine. The OEM were connect to the filter/intake because of that reason - clean filtered air.

ill just put a line going from the dink on the valve cover with an inline check valve to the intae tube, easy enough.

i dont see why zzp just blocks it off.... interesting

What ever one decides as long as one does not blocked it off and make sure to have the same function as oem.

Mind were blocked off as well. My guess is because ZZP intake doesn't have a fitting nipple to reattach the oem line to it? It's alright, not a deal breaker for me, I just when with John Powell's suggestion and open that fresh air port.
