Boost Normal?

I've been boosting at about 14-15psi. So I went to do my first mod at Pepboy's and got a K&N filter. As I was putting it in, I pulled up on the stock air box and the tubing came completely out of the turbo. So I reattached it and took it for a ride. I am now boosting about 15-16 psi. Is this normal? Do we get 18psi from factory? Is my turbo just new and needs sometime to break in? It's only got about 270 miles on it now.

it is called the learn down feature and you are about to get raped by it..... that k&n is good for 10 to the wheels which you DID gain..... but eventually the ecu will push the boost down........ and you will be back to stock, hope this answered your question

o and welcome to the site <= post number 900 for me

if you need more answers on the learn down feature just search either the lnf general forum or the 2.0l lnf tech forum or just ask some one

Boost varies based on a lot of factors, the ecm has to make 260hp/260 trq in the end so on some days you'll see more boost and on others you'll see less.

This means along with a CAI upgrade you should also get a PCM tune. Is this what you guys are saying?
