A thing called state inspections.... personally I dont feel like putting my stock DP back on every year.

So it says you get both the "sound" of a BOV and the benefit of recirculation, but doesnt say how. What is it, under low boost it recircs and high boost it triggers the BOV??

I had one on my GT2860RS Miata. (It was OBDII and airflow metered) It works the same as a recirc, but it recircs enough of the flow to keep the MAF happy, and blows off enough to keep the average DSM owner happy. It sounds nearly identical to a standard BOV.

hmm interesting.....so they sell one that would work with our turbo? Does it mount into the charge piping like a typical aftermarket BOV?

What if we got just a typical atmospheric BOV like an HKS SSQV, and recirc'd it.... do you lose all the BOV sound completely??

Youd recirc it like this right?

INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONNECTING HOSES TO AN AFTERMARKET BLOW OFF VALVE
1. Remove the hose going to the factory Compressor Bypass valve (locate the tan plastic cap on the turbo above the compressor inlet) See pic at top of this page.
2. Connect this hose to the new BOV.
3. Locate the rear hose connected to the black solenoid valve on the intake manifold left side. See pic below. Install a 3/16" plastic "T" and 3/16" fuel/vacuum hose.
4. Connect the other end of this new hose to the tan nipple on your factory compressor bypass valve.

Thats from Dejons site.

Yes I believe so.

And the sound, I still think it would be louder than stock, but not as loud as it running atmospherically.

Okay, so that Splitter BOV is the only way to recirc and vent to the atmosphere without losing sound?

I think I got it lol.

Ive slowly been learning turbos since I got this car, but I havent bothered w/ BOVs before....clearly.

Its the only way to get the BOV sound, and properly meter the recirculated air. It keeps the MAF from getting confused

You could even run the splitter without a tune.

WRONG. those are just directions to hook the bov up.

To recirculate you would need to attach a 1" hose from the bov to the intake.

Like my old setup

Oh, I thought it was for the recirc...because it talks about adding the T-connector where the line connects to the intake manifold, and then running a new line back to the stock BPV.

So how did this set up sound? Just like a louder BPV?

Also, Howd you like Dejon's CP?

Dejon piping is very nice. I like it better than the CIA pipes I have now

THe sound is barely louder than the stock BPV.

i think dejons piping is nice aswell until after a 2-3 years of being on the car. only reason i say that is i had a lot of stuff from them on my old talon and after 3 years it was all rusting.

@HB SS/TC Where exactly does that line go into from the BOV to the intake? I have the exact same set up as you except I'm not recirced. I have a Dejon sri as well as the charge piping with the black HKS.

[QUOTE=fshizl;4489992]cops in my city actually get on their backs and look for cats on the cars that are modified... i rather keep it catted than catless cause i dont want a fix it ticket to go to a ref station and have to change everything back to stock.. i rather just play it safe...

Mine has the appearance of being catted but it is not. Looks legal, no codes and no emissions checks here in Florida.

The intake had an option where you can add a little 1" tube for the recirc hose to clamp on to

Oh ****. I didn't even know that. I guess I'd have to buy a whole new intake if I ever wanted to recirc, right?

I've heard the Dejon replacement is terrible from a few people and that it's worse than stock.
