BOV or no?

Looking to get a BOV today but I'm trying to sort out all the pros and cons I mainly want it for the sounds but don't want to get it if it's just gonna give me problems. I have an injen upper charge pipe and I'm not tuned. But will be shortly after I buy it. I don't want a recirculating BOV that just defeats the point of the sound.. I know there are threads on this but I'm at work and can't do research so I'm asking all of you for a little advice. Should I get the BOV or should I just get a Sri or CAI for the sound. I'll be getting a CAI anyways jist seeing if I should save my money on the BOV.
I'm getting a HKS ssqv 3 for $55 brand new so I want to get on it before it's gone. Any thoughts or advice appreciated!

Bov's on our cars are pointless unless you have an upgraded turbo. They're more trouble than they're worth imo.

Go for it, get a BOV. You know the pros and the cons. They dont matter if you really really want one now do they?

The thing is your either gonna have to weld a flange on that upper CP or buy a new upper CP with a flange already there. So your not just looking at the expense of the BOV, but possibly another CP too.

oh and I forgot. You will need a tune for the atmospheric BOV.
The stocker BPV will make a good blow off sound too if you get the intake.

Just get a K&N Sri. Everybody thinks I have a BOV, sounds just like one.

I want to run one eventually too. I have Hahn CAI but it doesn't sound like a true BOV.

From what I've gathered you have to buy an upper charge pipe with the flange or you can have it welded to your Injen. Then you need to have a MAF relocate from where it is in the intake to the lower charge pipe and then get a tune for it. Although there are some people who just plug and play and it works.

Thanks everyone who posted a reply. I've been hearing a lot of the same responses about using on our stock turbos. How much of a problem would it really be? I'm getting trifecta tuned right after I get a CAI I might buy the BOV but instal it once I get tuned.

This^^^. This is correct, I had a MAF Relocate done along with a stainless steel welded flange on my Upper Charge Pipe, I got mine put on at the same time I was getting Tuned, Cause you WILL need to Tune for it to be 100% sure you won't get a cel or have any issues, I Love my BOV and thought it was worth it IMO, I just wish I would have went with the HKS like the one your looking at, Cause it is a tad louder than mine, But at any rate it sounds sooo beast when pulling on some one!!!

Have the K&N CAI, and with a decent enough psi I'll put a righteous sneeze through with the stock stuff. A good tune will only make the sneeze/wheeze through a CAI that much more insistent. I think all the discussion/money just for a better sneeze that doesn't really do anything for you is not money well spent IMHO. If it makes noise without making additional power, I think its only making things rice.

Well, I'm also going to upgrade to the EFR Turbo once I can get my hands on one which at that point will benefit to have a BOV already installed.

So after you relocated the MAF you didn't have any problems with it?

Go for it I say, I have a BOV on my can and all I needed was a good tune and a lighter spring for inside the BOV itself. If you have any questions let me know I have 0 issues with mine.
