what is the mod for the bypass valve? (my guess is a different spring)

It's been tried with only partial success. In short, not worth the time/effort for the benefits you could get.

Yeah, it possibly puts the turbo at risk.

i "had" it in mine had a lot of turbo shutter in it then 2 weeks later the turbo locked up
