I think next time i dyno ill switch back to GMS1 for a pull, but i dont have a gms1 with no mods on it so I dunno.

goos points.. thanks for the suggestions... did you have any CEL issues after these additional add-ons when mated with the GMS1?

Thats exactly what I was saying. GMS1 will obviously add power but an intake on top of GMS1 I don't think will add any real gains. A DP on top of GMS1 is a different story.

Adding an intake on top of GMS1 with no other tune will not add any more horsepowers-correct. So no there won't be 15 more.
I highly doubt your going to get an extra 15hp by just slapping an intake on to a GMS1 car maybe 5. A catless DP has shown benefits with GMS1 but an intake on a GMS1 car is just not a good idea.

ok.. I'm gonna toss it out there... an intake with a GMS1 .. not a good idea... is that because of the inconsequential gains? or because it negatively impacts the MAF and throws CEL's or something.. the DP was an idea, but I'm not sure how it would impact the warranty, if at all...

It skews the fuel trims because the MAF cannot properly read the air from an aftermarket intake which is why a custom tune is needed to properly adjust the MAF to read the airflow from the aftermarket intake, the GMS1 tune does not do this.

As for the DP this is the single most effective bolt-on for our cars and has no negative effects on the car at all (read this: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...npipes-198998/).

As for warranty any time you put on an aftermarket part your taking a risk if they see a K&N SRI and worn down tires a lot of dealerships will jump to the conclusion that you have been abusing your car and can void your warranty claim, hell you can be completely stock and they can still scream abuse if they want to.

DP is an exhaust component and has no important sensors responsible for how the vehicle calculates air/fuel mixture so the idea of getting a voided warranty over it is rediculous. I have not gotten my warranty voided yet. They have seen my ZZP charge pipe and my K&N intake. I had a boost leak and they took care of it under warranty.

Now if I had a messed up engine, I could see them trying to point the blame at the intake and I would probably swap that out. DP is an exhaust component, end of story.

k&n intake on my gmstage 1 didnt cause any cel's, trims were skewed a little but nothing that will blow up my engine. I have hpt though and be tuning when its warm out.

now that I think about it, I put the stock airbox in for the boost leak, lol. but I definately had the charge pipe on their and Im sure they looked at it do to my problem being a boost leak.. right now I have electrical problems I think. Car dies after not being started for a week... My airbag said it needed to be serviced and then the service light just went out on my way home last night. wierd stuff. I cant go to a drive in movie theater without the car dying. Definately cant leave it in accessory mode for more than 5 minutes, lol. I might buy another battery just to see if I got stuck with a crap battery but I doubt it.

They might blame the power drainage on my interceptor guage saying its draining the battery or something.... OR they might blame my HID projectors... which would be stupid.

If you don't drive the car enough, the battery will drain and may not recover..sulfonation. My battery went dead only a couple months after buying it (used 8k mi). I found out the battery was replaced only about 6 months earlier, but it sat on the dealer lot most of the time. I guess they recharged it right before I picked it up (looked brand new), but it had discharged beyond recovery.
