same here. I am almost 3/4 of the way worn through my second set of rear pads with 23K kilometers on the car. the fronts are like new! I'm not sure what the design flaw was with these rear pads/rotors but its not a good one. warrenty covered my first set, I doubt the second will be covered.

I replaced my rear rotors and pads at 30,000km (18,000 miles). I used Hawk HPS pads. Have 46,000 kms on now and rotors look good. Don't use OE pads, they suck.

OEM rotor? By any chance, do you still have the part numbers for the rotors and HPS pads?

From an earlier post of mine...

FYI: 08-09 SS/TC Rear rotor GM part #
For those that need it and for future searches.

15921402 rear brake rotor 08-09 Cobalt SS/TC

Verified from Gmpartsdirect.com by my VIN Number.

Hawk HPS pads are:
HB478F.605 Disc Brake Pad; HPS Performance Street w/0.605 Thickness; w/Upper Notch And Spring; Rear;

I have the Hawk HPS rear pads on mine for about 10k miles now, no issues and rotors are fine. Make sure you lube the caliper pins when you have them off.

I'm glad he did - I haven't been on the site in a while (i.e. months) and this was burried in the back of my head. Now, I have an answer and didn't have to spend 30 minutes reading through bullshit posts like this one to get to the answer I needed. Maybe if the people on this site spent less time acting like 2nd graders and more time focusing on the stuff that matters, more would use the search feature!

Oh im sorry, i guess typing "wearing brake pads" and the first 3 of the 4 threads lead to your answer with the 4th thread being this one, isn't good enough. Search works, shut your mouth, stop reposting threads. Oh and since search doesn't work on YOUR computer, heres the link: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/sear...archid=7502754 Enjoy!
