Come to Toronto. We have 94 octane at Sunoco gas stations. Been using it since I bought the car and love it. Right now its like $1.14/liter. A fill up cost me no more than $50.

What? You cannot fool a car into think it is running higher octane than it is. Not possible. The knock sensors would have a field day with that one. Honestly LNFs do not like that much peak timing. No where near as much as an LSJ normally runs. There is a point at which more timing is not needed. It will not necessarily knock but it also will not make any more power. That peak timing number beyond which power stays the same or falls off slightly is much lower than most think.

in the great words of some one, at some time. you can always a trick a car into thinking what ever you want, you just might not like the outcome!

Yeah, trick the knock sensors by changing their sensitivity and add timing and see how the pistons like it LOL. I should have rephrased my response to it should never ever be done not it can never be done.

You still have her at 100% applied torque in 1st gear? That is murder on the clutch and the tires especially with the way you have the DALs hitting at 60% driver desired torque. Been there done that with my car. 100% torque in 1st causes rediculous amounts of wheel spin at WOT and makes it easy to get a lot of clutch slippage as you are start off especially up inclines.

its dialed back a bit, but this is how she wants the car!

shes knows my thoughts about her pedal mapping!

at the end of the day, the car is tweaked for her rite foot, and thats how i'm going leave it.

Do you have any traction in 1st at all at WOT? I get none unless I commaded it at 50-55% applied torque in 1st.

That just means you need more power :P Try to get a hold of some 3 bar maps (if you can locate any) and the connectors for them and have a "write entire" done with the modified version of the Stage 1 tune Bryan has in Bart's HHR (with the appropriate MAF tables for your car of course). That reminds me of what I am doing this weekend after I get off work on saturday. I got both Bosch 3 bar sensors and the connectors for $80 shipped off of a member on here who just sold his Balt.

I think the appropriate question here is, when was the last time you went WOT Marisa?

i somehow don't believe you...

i say this because even I don't have traction in first gear. Like 0, zip, zilch, none.

to this day, the greatest feeling i've had with my car is absolutely BURNING the tires off in 3rd going down the highway.
