Question Car didn't do a cat warmup this morning.

Has anyone else had this? I still have it turned on but it didn't do it's whole procedure. Car was at 48F when I started it. The car did do a long and slowly lowering 1100 to 900 and then sat there. I asked trifecta to turn it off but they said it's "illegal" for emissions even though I want it off since I have a catless downpipe coming.

Could it be possible they turned it off anyways?

Here's a video, it doesn't show from the very beginning though, but you can see that the car is at 62F and it's idling.

Is that what it does? If that's all it does at start up its off. It's not trifectas business if u want it off, it's not their job to keep it legal it's urs.

Actually they can get in trouble for turning off anything emissions related...... Epa went after sct for tuning related issues as well as some other tuning companies awhile back.

Your coolant is already warm enough to where it won't do a cat warm up at start. It has to be from a true cold start.

I kept my cat warm up. Why don't you just wait over time and see if it's gone.

it should do a cat warmup at 48*F

i asked them to turn mine off to they said that the car wouldnt run right on cold start during cold cold days, doubtful considering locals have it disabled with hpt and theyre fine

That is because he has no Idea how to set the cold cam angles so it starts smoothly. Good MAF tuning helps too as you are in open loop so no fueling adjustment via fuel trims.

If you're catless and have a muffler delete its quite annoying and stupid loud.

I hated it. I loved when hp tuners have me the ability to disable it. Much smoother startup and much better cold drivability.

Hey Term, on the days were it was 30 or so the car would bog out upon start up. Actually enabled the cat warm up during the colder months and it's fine.

Even with catted DP? I'm catted with stock catback, muffler delete, that's why I think it sounds beast.

Yes it should not matter honestly. I was catted and then bashed the cat out.

About a year ago i had too drive my car in the cold till i bought my winter beater in January. I experienced the car not doing a cat warm up many times in the cold( this was with the stock tune). When i say cold i mean anywhere from -25 too -35 degrees celsius and sometimes around -50 degrees with the windchill. It would do regular cat warm ups when it was -15 degrees celsius or warmer. Im not quite sure the reasonings for this.
