Car is running too lean

got a CEL light today..just came out of nowhere..p1287 i think it was? says its running too lean at idle...the Vaccum readings are fluctuating at idle, and im not boosting over 8-9 PSI in any gear.

only mod is k and n drop in..gonna try to clean the MAF..any other ideas?

Sounds a little like the vac solenoid took a crap. Check that tube that runs down to the barb fitting on the coldside pipe. You're getting the "too lean" reading because there is a leak. When you say "came out of nowhere," what exactly were you doing?

alright..dont think it has anything to do with the maf? i was just driving normally when it came on, actually coasting in neutral to a stop..i had noticed the reduction in boost before i got the CEL though, started happening yesterday

The first thing you need to is check for a vacuum leak. Check all your hoses, and then check your intake manifold. I would recommend using brake clean to spray the manifold, if the idle fluctuates thats were the leak is.

You can run the boost leak test for any post-turbo leaks. See my sig for the How-to. We're not saying it absolutely isn't the MAF, but the only way to really check that is to replace it, unless the wiring going to the connector has been stressed.

Green circle at top of the pic is a tube coming out of the vac solenoid.

Strange that that made your vac fluctuate. HPFP or in-tank?
