Car is a tiny bit hesitant

Its nothing major. Just seems not so smooth at partial throttle. I recently recharged my k&n sri filter so im going to try cleaning the maf. Also, I think spark plugs might need replacing. Is stock plugs the best way to go? And what's the most effective gap? Thanks.

u know mine kinda feels hesitant as well, kind of like the power surges in and out at lower rpms is that kinda like what u got? most ppl have recomended NGK (forget which #) plugs, but they don't rly need replacing unless ur missing or got cels u know?

cleaning the maf would be a good way to go if u just recharged, there could be dirt and moisture on it and that could cause issues

just posted a thread about the exact same thing! studders a bit at low rpm while accelerating or cruising. changing spark plugs and cleaning sensors tmrw. go with stock plugs and gap them to .030

It seems like these cars start to get picky after racking up a few miles.

Recently, mine has been doing the same thing under part throttle. I've cleaned my maf and map sensors, replaced the evap purge valve, replaced wideband o2, battery, and now i'm replacing plugs. I went with NGK ltr6ix-11's which are one step colder...not saying they are the best plug or anything, it's just what im trying out in the car this time.

yeah thats what i meant. its the worst in the rain for me, best on a dry night. i have a wideband gauge in the car and the afrs do seem a bit erratic when its happening (bouncing around 13.6-15.8ish)

Only when it's raining?

OP I don't recall your mod list but if you're still within 50hp of stock you should probably stick with the stock NGK ILTR5D plugs, they come pregapped don't bother measuring them or regapping. Rockauto.com has the best pricing on those.

ya then i think we can assume it is the moisture sceweing the MAF at higher air flow causing it to studder

it only happens under heavy load with your car? mine only happens at low rpm under light acceleration or cruising (between 1.5k and 2k rpm)

i think i may have just figured out my problem. i had a shop replace the head with one that i bought. after reading about transferring the fuel pump and fuel feed pipe to the new head, i learned it is mandatory to replace the fuel pump o-ring, fuel pump gasket, high pressure fuel pipe, and fuel pump bolts. the shop failed to do any of those...

hmmm, justAcobalt, i have the same issue.. just at cruising speeds, basically around or under 2k... my previous SS/TC did the same, seems like its a lil better since i got retuned last week, i was told by a few others its normal cuz of our cars being fuel injected... but thats just what ive been told.. id like to figure it out tho.. i mean i can deal with it.. its not that bad but it get annoying.. could just be the weather tho, everyday the heat index is like 105 here lol

Don't forget that if you reused your DI injectors you have to get all 4 seals and the seal adjuster kit so that they seal correctly.

injector were already in the new head so they were never removed. what would the symptoms be of reusing the fuel pump bolts, gasket, and fuel pipe?
