Cat modification
Cat modification
Ok, I read about people gutting their 2nd cats on the tc balts, and for some reason it took till today to realize i could have this done for free...
The question is, if i were to cut the pipe after the 02 sensor, right b4 the second cat and unbolted it from the end closest to the resonator, could I run open like that for a day or so while i was gutting the second cat..
I still havnt decided if i should gut the second cat and bolt it right back up, or weld a 3" pipe into the exhaust....
Just wondering if i'd be fine with running open for a day or 2
"the first cat and 02 sensor would still be in place"

Get a 3" catless DP with the O2 bung or you'll throw codes. THe ECU looks for both O2 sensor readings to validate each other.
ZZP's is around $240, then you have the stock cat to put back on if you need it.

dont mod the stock dp... the stock dp is garbage in the first place. Did you see that gawd aweful crush point when they clamped the bung for the O2 sensor in?!?!?! thats rediculous. replace the whole dp, ZZP and CIA are right now the cheapest since theyre in a deadlock competition for sales, lol. I think zzp is like 170 or 190 and CIA was matching that last time I checked.
I had the 2nd cat and resonator deleted after my trifecta tune. If it did anything power wise, it gained. The sound is pretty crazy! Pretty deep and gargles when you 1-2 shift. No codes thrown either. I like it and it was $40
I just cut mine off yesterday right after the 02 bung. Welded a 3" pipe in and welded a new flange on it to fit my vibrant catback from old LSJ motor and it has a pretty good tone. You can really hear the turbo now when you boost. I am going to buy a Catless downpipe pretty soon cause its just way to quiet for me. i like the guy next to me to be deaf after i leave him back there.
