I've heard quite a few cattless LSJ's and to me they sound like crap...... IMHO if you cant hear the whine from your blower .....the exhaust is too loud. To me the LSJ's blower whine trumps any other sound the car makes .... give me a 2.8/2.9 with a K&N intake catted dp and a Corsa Touring catback and thats a perfect sounding SS/SC

Meh, I vouch for the 2.7 Now that WHINES, with a 3" OTTP CAI and yeah the Corsa does rock all other exhausts for the SC! But agree with rukkee

Catted. I can't stand the smell of catless cars, and the difference between high performance catted and catless is pretty minimal for a stock turbo car.

Thought there was an 8-10 whp difference between a tuned catless vs tuned catted downpipe?

You really think that amounts to a whole hill of beans?

8-10whp is enough to notice at the very least.

I don't have any smells with my catless DP. I am not sure why people say that. If your gaskets are working properly the exhaust smells should go right out the back.

I think more of this difference is between the tunes on the given cars if that 8-10 whp figure is true..... I mean unless you show me a graph of the exact same car running a catless and catted DP from the same dyno same day its really hard to say what the "gains" would be to go catless as every car setup (mods/tune and dyno for that matter) is different

I've got both, and I swap sometimes for the track, and I can't notice any difference in top speed at the end of a straight, or in lap time.

I'm talking about out back. It's awful, and sitting in traffic making people have to suffer it is also awful.

I don't ride in the trunk so I don't ever notice it nor receive any complaints. Maybe it's bc of the E.....

Installed my dp yesterday. Not loving the Catless smell thus far if I'm honest. It seemed like I didn't have to remove my gasket and put it back in, could that be problem? I kinda just left it where it was and bolted on the new pipe.

Yep. It stinks. The people that can't smell it must smoke and have no sense of smell. I generally only do it for track events. Plus, I don't want to gas out my kid as I'm pulling up to, or leaving the house.

I don't get why people don't like the smell of catless. I love it, it smells like burnt fuel to me, reminds me of the smell of an old lawn mower.

Catless dp + stock exhaust is great. Quite when cruising and idle, nice sounding at WOT. No lift shift is much louder too.

Does the tune make a difference in catless smell? Is the stock tune possibly running rich? It'd be nice if my trifecta tune cut out some of the smell. Also wondering if I have a leak... I'm smelling it constantly while in traffic.

I'm seriously debating buying a catted one instead at this point.

i picked up a used hahn catless DP and cat back from a buddy of mine and LOVE the way it sounds at WOT!

at normal cruising speeds it pops a little but sounds good. i had the stock catback with muffler delete but that was with the stock downpipe. im intrested to see how much louder a catless DP+stock cat back w/ MD really is.

OP id say get CATLESS! i barely notice the smell

I don't understand why people waste money on exhaust systems, dp I can see the cost for performance. Imo every exhaust on a tc sounds the same. I went catless downpipe, custom 31/2 all the way back, with a hollowed out muffler. I think is sounds amazing, I would say deeper then an Srt4 that's been fully modded

If you get a 200 cell cat it probably would be no more than 5. Most probably use 300 cell though. Still, the difference is marginal.

I have a CIA catted dp. Got it used for a good price. I want a little more sound and quicker spool. Would it be a good idea to gut the cat? Or would the bubble create problems with turbulence or a cel?

Well, you'll get a MIL and cat material is extremely carcinogenic if broken up, not to mention it's worth something if you take it to a recycler.
