The learndown is only limiting what power you make at peak. There is a difference between peak power and usable power. It allows the motor to make peak power longer and therefor makes it feel like it has more power. Mike (09sscalicobalt) is right when he says that he got more power... Its over a wider spread of the RPM range. The big thing about the catless DP is that it allows the turbo to spool a little quicker and keep power longer into the higher RPMs. It would stand to reason then that he is making the power much quicker and holding it longer.

By the way... If you are getting a tune right after you put on the DP don't worry about the defouler, your tuner can turn the code off anyways. The defouler merely keeps the O2 sensor out of the direct exhaust flow so it reads lower emissions. I ran about 4,000 miles before I threw a P0420 catalyst inefficiency code. I have HP tuners so I just turned the code off. A defouler is less than 20 bux though so its people's own decision to get one.

^^^Aaaahhh finally...

Do what about different brands?
I'm sure one might be slightly better than the other, but each and every site said they use "state of the art 3d computers to find the most effective....." bla bla bla....
Pedders are better than (_insert competitor spring here_)
Brembos are better than duralast
TL projectors are better than minis
I am better than you
Coke is better than Pepsi
Even though all these facts are true....
Is there a "best" catless dp?
And which one's the best bang for my bucks?.... or is it all based on preference?

They all use the same material. Those who have the zzp Hahn or whatever costly dp are just hype bc they paid alot and mostly jealous cuz they missed out on a great deal ($163) Whomp Whomp

And a defouler cost less than $20 but if ur good with drilling then make it $5

alright motox thanks for the info. i just remeber hearing about people that had on bolts ons and they started pushing like 12 psi tops because the computer wasnt letting it get all its power.

are badmabs 100% 304 stainless? 304 stainless flanges? they dont have a angled bung so i dont know how everyone can say they are all the same. im not saying badmab is bad or anything.

Yes, They are 100% stainless from flange to flange. And it has a non-angled o2 bung so all you have to do is screw a defouler on to avoid the cel.

Never understood why guys go out and buy all those special nonfoulers, just pick up one of the sparkplug nonfoulers from vatozone. That one is just a generic spark plug nonfouler, not even sure that PN would work. But I was running one of those on my catless L61 with no check light.

Be careful if you get one that isn't angled because the censor is already tight against the firewall. Most of them on ebay are lower cost, but work fine.

OP could get the MODpipe setup from Hahn, and be able to put in the high-flow cat OR the straight pipe as needed...

which is what I'm planning on doing.

Maybe Im just buying into the hype, the reason I prefer the Synapse over the others is primarily becuase of the pictures Ive seen of them. Badmabs website shows welds on theirs that are a little rough, blotchy and inconsistent. I think they might MIG theres. Synapse on the other hand look flawless. You can tell they are hand TIG'd (FLAWLESS) maybe someone with one can chime in on how theirs looked compared to the Synapse picture.

The angled bungs are the only difference. Like I said your tuner will turn off the P0420 code that your O2 sensor will throw if you go catless. So it really won't matter a whole lot. My O2 sensor isn't near the firewall its underneath my car so I'm not sure why everyone is freaking out about a certain angle or not. I don't think it really matters as long as the O2 sensor is accessible underneath the car. The 12 psi is probably more associated with intake system issues. Either boost leaks or MAF skewed readings. The exhaust isn't necessarily going to throw many codes that will make you lose power or go into limp mode.
