CIA SRI is on the car
CIA SRI is on the car
This is it, the silicone elbow that Dan needed was in and I called at the right time, and he needed a test car for fitment. I went in Saturday morning to do test fits and drove out later with the first production SRI done in CHROMEX (don’t worry I was on the list to get one). I’m sure Dan will chime in to let you know, this is not a easy task to put this bad boy on. There were comments like how do you tell someone in instructions to twist your arm like this while grinding the other side of your arm into the factory fastener etc. etc. It uses one of the factory air-box mounts to secure it and seems solid. Also according to Dan my 09 might have had a little different routing in some of the factory hoses then the 08 previously tested on, but none the less, they are easily bent out of the way with a little “finesse” shall we say. After listing to Dan “argue” with the SRI (I was glad I got free installation) I started the car up and just as advertised, there were no codes. I left the lot and my first to second shift I hear a Poot (I don’t know what to really call it) and I thought damn did he leave a tool in my car……. then second to third, a louder Poot then I said oh wow that’s the BPV, and louder than I thought it would be.
As far as performance, I’m on the stock tune so not much there to speak of yet…. things will be changing. Now the question of heat and the SRI. According to the RPD the stock inlet temp was normally 2-3 degrees warmer then what the DIC said the outside temp was (This is on the freeway). With the SRI we left the stock piece that comes in through the front bumper (wheel well) I guess you would call this a air inlet, and the temp with the SRI stays about 5 degrees warmer than then the outside temp.

Thanks for posting pictures. In short, the silicone elbow used for the SR is the same used for the CAI. Now that I finally have the correct part, i am ordering 25. The company is in CA and they sounded like they had them readily available for shipment. Friday delivery would be great so i can start packing everyone's CAI and SRI orders.
"Argueing with the SRI". LOL That's funny.
Install takes time because there is simply no room on these cars. It's time consuming for sure. Figure a couple hours to pull the factory staock air box, rubber part from the turbo and get the SRI installed.
Thanks all.

Looks sweet, I am glad I got the Chromex. When is everyone else going to be able to get theirs now? I have asked this in another thread and made my own thread but have not got a response. Can someone give us all an update???
As for vids, I'll charge up the camera, but I might need help getting them online, heck for that matter I need a person to man the camera.
I put my downpipe back on last night and still loud enough the the law will know when I'm giving it hell. Plus I played around with this little box I got in the mail from a guy named Vince. I only got to play with the car a short while last night and didn't drive it today because of the rain here, but what I could tell from the 3 miles I did drive it, the thing scoots.
