clutch question
I was having clutch problems so my friend and I took it off and found out that a piece broke off of the clutch disc. It's a 6 puck disc from spec. Whoever had the car before me put the spec on and I don't really wanna buy spec again. The pressure plate and fly wheel are in good condition so I don't need to buy a whole new clutch. Will any 6 puck disc work or do I specifically HAVE to buy spec? Thanks guys

Definitely wanna replace everything. Don't mix and match. You could get the GMPP clutch setup for a reasonable price from Crate Engine Depot. Take the flywheel to a shop and see if its worth resurfacing otherwise replace that too. I think ZZP has good deals on new ones.

damn.....I bought one cuz I got a good deal but hey I have motor and trans mounts from zzp and neutral balance shafts going in so hopefully the clutch chatter will be overrulled by the vibration haha

I know there have been quite a few mixed reviews of ky clutches in general but I personally have had zero issues with my kys3. I really don't know if it's due to inconsistancies with the clutch itself, incorrect installation issues, failure to break in the clutch propperly or some combination there of. All I know is that mine has been great for the year that I've been using it so far. I did have some minor chatter and howl during the breakin of the clutch but that's really pretty common for a 6 puck with a relatively aggressive disk and heavy pressure plate. After about 500-1000 miles have never had an issues since. That's just my. 02.
