Considering Upgrading to the LNF
that doesnt mean you dont have a gunk issue building up... my car runs fine as well with 53k on it, but I'm not saying its perfect by any means. I'm actually fairly scared to see how bad it might look and given your from canada (hence colder climate), that would be reason for you to be more concerned too as there has been some pretty nasty valves I've seen on DI motors up there
If you care that much about it.
1. Buy new head
2.Install new head
3. take old head, and scrub intake valve stem's clean using a toothbrush or if you are lazy, sent off to clean
4 Wait till new head is bad, probably 2-3 years.
5. install old "Cleaned" head
6. ?????
7. Profit

Yeah might have to see what Powell's fix does and how it keeps off the buildup. Everything else he makes works amazing so I'm sure this would'nt be anything different. I wish GM would have thought of this when the LNF was in production...
As my only option being buying a used LNF, the only option is walnut blasting the gunk off, then buying Powell's fix? (as the inexpensive option) Like I said before I don't have big plans for it, just simple bolt-ons and using it as A DD. Just gunna stick with premium gas and mobil 1 syn. oil and not going to e85/47 either.

I wouldnt be too worried about massive gunk issues.. i bought my ss with 40k on it in april, now 53k and I'm not concerned about the gunk being bad enough to hinder performance. I just dont want it getting worse than it likely is already. The gunk doesnt build up THAT quick. If you really concerned buy a boroscope and see what it looks like before you purchase
you say that now... BUT with the power gain possibilities you will probably change your mind in time. Pretty sure almost all of us DD our SS's

lol. Yeah I'm not gunna lie reading on here about e85 and since I live in WI and theres a TON of stations with it I may eventually (may lol) go that route if I ever want more power.
However, like I said I'm very noob when it comes to the LNF and DI for that matter. So say I bought a LNF with around 40-50k miles on it and just keep up with regular maintenance like Mobil 1 synthetic at about 25% oil life. Will the gunk just eventually build up really bad it will cause any major damage? And if it will, what would it damage?
I've never used seafoam before either so that would be new to me if its needed to keep gunk from piling up.

hmmm maybe I'll just hold on and wait and see if any problems start to surface with it at all. I'd rather have something easy to maintain than having to worry about what my rpms are and spending almost $400 on something that should have been there from factory. Who knows though. All depends on when I get hired somwhere
