Crankcase Ventilation Block-off Plate for K04?

I'm considering going old school on my current build and ventilating my rear crankcase vent (that normally runs to the turbo housing) to atmosphere, to avoid as much oil ingestion, nasty intake valves, and possible knock issues later down the road. That brings up at least two questions though, that I'd like to see about getting input on:

1) Could this cause any unforseen issues with how the intake air is metered? The main thing I wonder about is the metered air going into the valve cover hose after that MAF, through the valve cover, and then back out the back vent causing a vacuum leak of sorts. It's got a check valve on the first hose, but still...

2) Is there any kind of block off plate anybody makes for the K04 housing where the hose from the valve cover normally connects?

Thanks in advance.

Just either make or buy an oil catch can.

No, because that'd make sense!

You people and your sense-making logic... gaaaww lol

I've thought about that, and am open to going that route, but I can't seem to find a good spot for one if I did that. The MPx option for instance wouldn't work for me due to conflict of mounting location. On that note though, are there maybe some alternate mounting locations that people use that I may have never thought about?

What do you have there? A monster procharger?

But seriously, whats in the way to cause you to not be able to mount it there?

Would the K&N SRI cause any mounting headaches for the MPx there where everyone puts it?

Yeah that's part of what I'm wondering, with that large K&N SRI enclosure being about where that is. I can't really tell from the MPx pics where exactly the can sits, and things on the car are apart right now, so I can't just look under the hood to eye it really.

Update:

Just bought the MPx unit. I'll see if I can find a good alternate mounting location if nobody else has paired this with a K&N SRI setup before. I can report back on how that goes.

It shouldn't interfere. Have you looked at the pic of it mounted? I have it on my car and it can be spun around more towards the right just by moving your harness and weaving it between a few lines.

I had looked at a few pics, but since it was used with a CAI in the pic that goes straight down through a hole, there wasn't really any way for me to tell for sure in the case where that big heat shield sits with the K&N SRI.

Hahaha... that was my plan all along, so I could get you to pick one up for me...

Just kidding. I'm not that crafty.

Yeah, I've heard stories about that. Luckily we've got a skilled fabricator among us who created a tool that makes getting those off a snap.

What would the world do without Tom? lol

Back on topic though, wish there was a way to pipe a catch can into my setup using the stock breather locations to keep the system 'closed' rather than VTA like I am now.

There is... We talked about this.

...and it would fit right it with what you're needing to do anyway, so cost shouldn't be a thing either.
