crazy steve incooler

yes or no?

should i go with the synapse one instead?

def not getting the Hahn, tired of paying out my ass for parts.

i have one and it doesnt need modification to bolt in... but in my case it needed modification of the the end pipes to not cause boost leaks. But it was a very simple fix, just heatiing them up til they are glowing then just adjust accordingly

10k miles on mine with no issues yet.

ei3dag3 12-17-2009 03:27 PM

what kind of gains can we expect from this intercooler?
i heard it hardly drops iats.

It drops them to almost ambient except on multiple back to back pulls. It is for sure oversized and will cool as well as most on the market.

ei3dag3 12-17-2009 03:36 PM

do you have any data to back that info up or any pulls?

i'm really interested in it cause its cheap! :D

BartSS is the only guy I have seen that has an interceptor to prove it.

He has an HHR and he said it hardly ever gets above ambient. PM him if you need proof

My one question and concern about the CrazySteve intercooler is would it effect the radiators efficiency?

cool, anyone else have any info to chime in with?
also interested in if this intercooler...being oversized affects the engine temps through radiator?

Nope not anymore than the stocker. I only see coolant temps above 200 about once a month. Which is more than acceptable. The black plastic piece under the car is still present and directs air upwards over the radiator.

ecotecturbo 12-17-2009 07:46 PM

I thought you had a hahn intercooler already

yea i read that i was posting about pipes not the IC so that was my bad for not making myself clear.

this is my last needed bolt on before i am ready for a bigger turbo besides maybe new internals so im big into looking for this IC.

mongorat427 12-17-2009 11:05 PM

Mine works perfect and fit good with proper install. Air is cool all the time

My engine temps didnt change at all

oopsitouchedmyself 12-18-2009 06:46 AM

i'm worried about pressure drop cause of too much volume in the IC, but for the price it sounds like a steal,. they should make a slightly smaller one.

jb09ss 12-18-2009 07:34 AM

A bigger inter-cooler doesn't create a bigger pressure drop. It takes more time to fill, or to bring to pressure, which affect spool.

Boosted_Cobalt09 12-18-2009 08:16 AM

its cheap and gets the job done from what others day but i think theres better out there.
