Crazy Steve or MPx intercooler

I was 100% MPx just an hour ago then I saw a post with pics of crazy Steve and thought it looked amazing. Can you tell me what one is better.

I liked MPx because it didn't hang low but I like the price and look of crazy Steve's.

Does Crazy Steve hang low like Hahn

i heard crazy steve is garbage. the zzp intercooler looks really nice, but its too big for my liking, and it does hang kind of low. the mpx look awesome, but one thing that worries me is how its not isolated from the car.

What does isolated exactly mean in relation to this. Just that its attached to the car rather than separate and why is this a negative aspect

because the vibes from the car over time could cause a crack or failure in the intercooler. isolating it allows the intercooler more "give" or in other words, put under less stress. im not saying its going to crack or fail at all, just look at all other intercoolers, theyre isolated. even the stocker is.

im sure theres a easy way to isolate the MPx intercooler yourself tho. buy some rubber bushings and washers, just do work. lol. i may get the mpx and just isolate the thing myself. its not hard.

Ah I see, the review I read from this site said the crazy steve intercooler was good, where did you hear that they were garbage. Granted the review I read could have been first impression

I wonder if Genuine Saab ever got their quality control in order.

I was the test car and i'm wondering if they should have kept the prototype a little longer.

Might has been great for the year and a half I have had it. But it's closer to perfect because it was specifically made for my car.

i love my crazy steves, it fit perfect, and who says they hang low obviously hasnt seen a picture of them installed. Mine doesnt even come close to hanging below the bumper with the lip off. I love mine, cheap, works great, and looks great.

I have the ZZP IC and it might be only 1/8-1/4 inch below the lip, that's it! It fits great.

Well I'll buy one and hopefully it's not bad.

Is Crazy Steve Isolated? Dart put the fear in me now I'm afraid to do anything to my car again.

Dart first GMS1, then Trifecta, now MPx, you always scare me out of things.

The crazy steve requires more time and muscle to install since it mounts BEHIND the crash bar. Also theres no point in having it be SO tall as the crazy steve is. Whatever air from the turbo that is passing up there in that portion isnt getting cooled properly since theres almost no flow of air passing over the intercooler that high up, plus the crash bar blocks whatever air should be passing through the intercooler at that hight anyway. Look at all the IC that are made for the TC, none of them are that tall. Its just not as efficient in my opinion.

If you want GMS1, buy the sensors separately and then get the trifecta tune. Its a great combo. No need to be agressive with the tune either. You can run 21-22 psi safely.

Read my how to: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/how-...cooler-229313/
I used the bushings from the stock mount to isolate it and provide loads of flex, while retaining strength.

If you want to read about MPx performance: https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/2-0l...review-230621/

MPx all the way. Couldnt be happier

crazy steves isnt a good intercooler. the core is crap. alot of people had fitment issues on top of the core being a cheap ebay core. MPx is great. to solve ur isolation issue just use the stock rubber bushings when u install it. Theres an entire writeup on how to do it. i have mine just bolted right up and havent had a problem yet.
