I heard both Hahn and I have a Dejon and they sound very much the same. When driving dont think you need to worry about heatsoak, I wish dejon made a heatshield though, that would solve the problem

Take the rubber baffle out from behind your passenger headlight. That will allow more ambient temp air into the engine bay near the intake. The reason it is there in the first place is to shield the stock intake fenderwell location from radiator heat but because you no longer have the stock or CAI then it does nothing.

Its hard to tell. However, I know I did have to readjust mine so the way it is in the pictures isnt how it sits now. It had come loose, so I had to readjust the positioning. Since then it has been fine, and that was about 3wks ago.

thats true but i would still like to find a piece of plastic and cut it to fit in that spot for a heatshield. Just to keep some engine heat away when idling. cant be too hard *crosses fingers*

I am still going to Fab up a Aluminum Heat shield for the SRI's...... I am going to try to make it so that you use existing hardware to secure it down......Along the the top edge will be a rubber seal, much like the ones that come with the K&N CAI's and such brands like that. It will look professional....If anyone likes them I will make some for a small price.... I am also thinking of making a feed pipe going from under the car somewhere, and bring it up close to the filter through the existing hole where the original hole for the stock air box feed pipe is behind the headlight. I'm thinking of some other cheap things that will help for ram air purposes as well as keeping your intake from getting heat soaked at idle.
I myself will be going with the G5 RKSport hood, so for myself I will make a functional air tunnel feeding directly to the SRI, along with the same Heat sheild separating the SRI from the rest of the engine bay.
It will take some time, and with time all the planning, measuring, fabbing and fitting...... Maybe one of these companies will pick the idea up......

the spring was not letting the solenoid release pressure and burned them up.

Heard from Psykosteveo.

I have it at home. havent installed it.

If its not letting it release pressure would you be able to tell by lack of sound when you shift? Are you still planning on installing yours?

as far as the air being hot or cold it will not matter. as we all know the turbo gets very hot and heats up any air going into the turbine as it is. there was a dyno meet this weekend and the guy himself said there is no increase in power from going with a fancy intake for a turbo cobalt because the turbo sucks in air efficiently enough.

just saying what he said.

and no he's not an idiot. he built a G8 that does 11 seconds (auto trans btw) at 124.

he did testing on different intakes right at his own dyno and said he saw minimal gains between the SAME car and different intakes. so cold air, short ram. it doesnt make a difference. if you want sound you wand short ram. they sound so badass.

Yea i completely agree wit you. i get suprised sometimes that people critique intakes even in a difference of like 2 HP. its such a minimal difference it doesnt really matter. Whatever looks good under the hood and puts more air wins

^amen.

like i said with these motors the only thing that should make or break a sale is whether you want a filter in your bay or a tube. and if you want to hear it or worry about it doing the same thing but possible hydrolocking.

yep and then it seems like alot of people hate on the Dejon intake for whatever reason and I just love when people prove them wrong. Like in another thread talking about the Ingalls engine damper and then said it would fit all CAI's but probobly not dejon and i went outside and popped it in and it worked fine.

i've found that on here a lot of people like to talk out their asses. no offense to anyone in particular, but it gets to a point where i'm like frustrated.

It matters some because the intercooler will not get as heatsoaked because the incoming air is cooler and will still be cooler by up to 30* after the turbo compresses it. Matters more if you have the stock intercooler vs an aftermarket one though. . i figure more cooler air into the intake area and the engine bay cannot hurt anything. It is a free mod anyway.

Dave was sick last week so he is pretty backed up. Just be patient and be happy you did not have to go through the crap I went through with my Intercooler (Not Dejons). My car has been apart for almost two weeks now.

I'm a few days behind then, I ordered on 4/7. Hoping to get it for the weekend.
