Thank God we have front wheel drive!! I drove back and forth to work in the snow (all 18 inches of it) on my oem conti tires!! 70 miles, 35 each way of both highway and back road. can't tell u how tense it was turning onto the road that I knew had a 1/2 mile gradual incline to it. kept it at 20mph in 2nd and kept my forward momentum and too my surprise she made it up without an extra spin. they actually were not as bad as i thought they would be but wouldnt recommend it had some impreza fly by me doing like 40-50.

That sounds too fast for the Imprezza to be going. I've noticed a higher number of 4x4's and AWD's in the ditches this year. It's ugly too when they go. I saw a Dodge Ram Daytona on it's top, an F150 that rolled and crushed the cab in pretty good, jeeps, F250's... crazy man.
I drive with TC on and off... just depends. I turn it on for the hwy in case of slick spots.
The only time TC has NOT worked is trying to get up my drive. I just need that little bit of wheelspin. I found that out one night when I failed to get up the drive, turned it off and then made it up.

TC will actually hurt you if you hit a slick spot and will made you spin out worse. The best thing to do is NOT jam on the brakes when you start to slip which is what traction control does.
traction control on + stock tires + snow = epic fail

I did it a few times last year but stopping was unbearable abs or not. Blew a stock Conti on a pothole and replaced all 4. Much better with BFG g-Force SS A/S this winter. Conti DWS 235/40-18 when these are gone next year.
refer to my post in the off topic section sir...
I too drove with these stock continentals in the snow. yes, its fine if you know what your doing but dont expect the average driver to understand how dangerous these tires are in the snow, they get NO traction.

You think stock Conti's on the LS/LT's are bad (Trust me, I've driven on them myself in my old G5), try Cooper Zeon ZPT's... NO traction what-so ever on snow. I might as well have banana peels on my rims.
they are not to bad on snow for summer tires, just dont stop for a while, lol ull spin for a while. i went through a winter on them, but im loving my winter tires this year.
tc limites the engines power and doesnt use the breaks. ESP will pulse the brakes but will do it only on the tires where you dont have traction.
traction control doesnt apply the brakes...it just closes the throttle...

my lnf does better then my 2.4
