Difference between Cobalt and HHR downpipe

Are the downpipes for the cobalts and hhr's compatible? if not does anyone know what the difference is. Cobalt downpipes are very inexpensive but one that specifically says it fits a hhr is at least 300 bucks. wtf?

Can anyone tell me for sure if they are the same or different before I order a part that I cannot use?

I bought a catless dp from zzp for my '08 5-spd HHR SS and it fits great. I read somewhere that if you have an auto it is just a little too short, but that doesn't make much sense to me.

On 2.2 and 2.4 cobalts the engines are clocked forward towards the core support. So the downpipes for autos are a bit longer. And im unsure on LNF vehicles. But on 2.2 and 2.4 cobalts not all manual downpipes will clear the swaybar. I had a 3 inch catted ZZP downpipe from a manual LSJ car and the flex pipe rubbed on the front sway bar. Which created a VERY noticeable resonance throughout the car.

Whoa, wait. Do you already have the BNR tuner? If you do that's cool, if you are going to buy one there are better options now. Just FYI.

its actually a BSR tuner and actually I do, as I got one of the first ones hahn distributed back in 08 WAAAAY before the stage kit was even available for the hhr, which was like a year before it was availale for the cobalt, but i was referring to the Brian Nickel Racing gt2871 turbo upgrade

yeah with all the tuning options available today i would never buy a bsr tuner

Oh, I'm sorry. It looks like I got my initials mixed up. A little while after I posted that I thought about the turbo upgrade and wondered if I had gotten mixed up but it was too late then. I haven't been lurking on this forum in a while. Is there anyone running those upgraded turbos yet?
