Went to buy Mobil 1 today at about 3 different general retail stores (not auto parts store) and everyone was out of Mobil 1. Wal mart even had a sign saying that Hurrican Ike has caused Exxon Mobil problems for their manufacturing/ distribution of Mobil 1. Maybe I'll try the RP just for the interim.

Any oil comes out black when it is ran through the engine.....means your oil has been broken down and used.....that not telling me nothing
Do you all change when the oil measure on the computer tells you to or do you change at 3k? I always change at 3k with mobil 1 synthetic. Just wondered if I'm changing with results or wasting money...?
If you're using a full synthetic, you're wasting money to change it @ 3K intervals. You should be going by the oil life meter. It's good for about 8K miles. Even today's standard dino oils can be changed @ 4-5K miles. To change it any faster is a moot point.
Blk08coupe has it right on, listen to your oil life meter. If you change it a second before that thing tells you to, you're providing your engine no benefit and might as well just get 50 $1 bills and let them go on the highway; that would be more fun too.
Also, Royal Purple skimps on protection to give you the 3-7hp everyone seems to need so much.
Wait for Mobil 1 Racing Oils in Spring 2009 and it'll give you the protection you want and the extra hp you want.
Not hating on anyone using Royal Purple, just know that it is not it sacrifices on protection for that performance you're getting.
Now if you still change your oil every 3k and you run a synthetic, well, there is a place they have for people like you with padded walls. The oil companies don't want you in there though because you're the guys that keep their pockets full.

gtr runs mobil syn. race oil and we recom. every 1,800 miles if you track the car. I will stick with the experts......

Proof is this, why would your oil life monitor lie to you? The OE wants you to bring your car in for oil changes.
You won't hear any proof from oil companies because they love the fact that people change their oil all the time.
This isn't dino oil anymore, this is lab generated synthetic, Mobil 1 does not leave behind any deposits. Personally, I change mine ever 9-11k miles, because that is when my oil monitor normally goes off.
Also, for all interested parties, Valvoline SynPower (a fully synthetic motor oil) fails more independent and vehicle manufacture tests Mobil Clean 5000 (a conventional oil).
0w-40 is in the gtr but it is the = to the race version as its not aval in the usa under race its in the usa under european bleen. and you change it every 1800 when racing. (gtr does because of its "black box") the oil indicator does not know if your tracking the car or the current driving conditions. I am no going to fight about oil...... the race 0w-40 and euro 0w-40 are the same says nissan.

I'm just letting you know that the 0w-40 at the Wal-Mart down the street is the same oil found in the GT-R if you wanted to drain the oil out a brand new one.
There is no race 0w-40; only 0w-20 and 0w-30.
