Just wondering, I have an 08 SS, K&N Short Ram, aftermarket catted downpipe and Trifecta tuning. I figure I'm at or around 300HP right now, and I'm looking to gain a bit more. I realise the charge pipes and cat back exhaust doesnt really do a whole lot for it, so I'm considering a Devils Own system, with retuning of course. Vince says I should expect roughly 15-30HP. My question, is that something I'd really be able to feel? Short of a bigger turbo is there anything else I could do? Thank you in advance.

 

15 to 30 you will notice. It won't be like a big nitrous shot obviously but you should notice it.

 

i am Trifecta tuned with meth and i noticed a slight increase. never have dynoed to know how much but i did notice just from driving around, just a heads up though for if you do purchase the thing i regret is not getting the steel lines. Just do some research to figure out if that is what you want or if you would prefer going another route.

 

how much is meth to buy anyways?
obviously the kit is like $400, but then how much is the methanol to be used and how often does it need to be filled?

no you shouldn't be using that much even if you're spraying all the time... of course, I have a 5 gal. tank so it buys me a little time between fill ups

 

How about going with a hptuners route? Im sure someone around you could squeeze another 15-20 hp outta your setup. Then you dont have to worry about keeping things filled up.

for the most part in my research that i have done, it is pretty reliable aslong as you make sure you don't run out and the pump is still working. im sure there is a better way to check if pump is working but as mine is mounted under the headlight it would suck to get to so i just watch my KR alot. shouldn't effect your mpg's because its not turning on until your in boost witch would make you get horrible MPG anyways. Pros is cooling and higher octane fuel allowing you to run more timing and im sure there are more pros to it. Cons would be having to worry about pump failer and having to refill it. I hardly ever get into boost so since i have gotten it i am still on my first tank full.

 

I think you could rig up a light in the cabin that would illuminate if the pump didn't run when it's supposed to. I know they also make something for the nozzles too that shows they are spraying. I've read people do have problems with nozzles clogging and pumps not working mid pull.

Personally I would probably make my own mix with RO water and HEET rather than use washer fluid. Also have every safety feature for it known to man.

 

I mix my own straight methanol here is 1.80 a gallon. I have a I gallon tank maybe go through half that in a month im running a 7gph nozzel. I've ben running devilsown trunk kit for about a year now with no issues and their controller has three lights red for power to the controller, green light comes on when spraying, and yellow light when your tank is low

Where do you buy pure methanol by the gal at? Our home improvement stores here carry it but they charge an arm and a leg.

 

I noticed a huge difference when I added meth. But I tune with hptuners so Im going to get a lil more out of the car than trifecta. I judged my performance based on a 60-100mph time. Before meth and intake I ran a 4.8 sec, after the meth and intake I ran a 4.4 sec time! Pryor mods were hot cp, dp and exhaust.
