Downpipe effects

ok so for the thousandth time, heres another dumb one. im either getting my downpipe or tune this week and i want to know if the downpipe will change my sound at all, i want to avoid any kind of fartcan-esque or civic sound. its like nails on a chalkboard to me for some reason. also with my hahn intake and downpipe i could probly be looking at near 300whp AFTER my trifecta tune i think right? probly the same torque..? or with just the intake and tune i wonder how much? i guess? anyone? thanks for the help with all my noob questions..

a catted downpipe make the car sound alittle more aggressive. not ricey at all. sounds pretty good. a catless is probably alittle louder. you'll get lots of gurgles and pops from the exhaust.

well after you first put it on, and the first drive you do with it on, you will notice a difference in spool time and power increase, and a new exhaust note. after the first 12 hours, your car will figure whats up and adjust boost level to match the air flow rates on the stock tune. I saw an increase of 1 psi after getting the dp on. then it dropped a full psi from what it was stock to correct, lol.

your almost in the area, if you wanna hear what a catted dp on a stock exhaust sounds like we can meet somewhere.

This car does not sound like a Civic no matter what you do. The turbo takes away some of the ricey 4 cylinder sound. Catless sounds good on this car IMHO.

yea you can with a catless, you just get a catless with a O2 bung and no code will be thrown. now if a cop approaches the car and smells the exhaust then you have a prob. go catted. I grabbed the CIA catted stainless dp.

I had one behind me at a redlight yesterday he did not notice. Even if he did my car has the shell of a cat and has no DTCs so visually it looks legal (we have no emissions testing in Florida)

yeah, in MD though that are PITA. Its safer to go with a catted one and avoid the crappy hassel of emmissions.

they're easy as crap to swap out though. Literally takes 20 minutes. I plan on swapping my catless for the catted come inspection time. Just do it 2-3 days in advance to get rid of my "not ready" codes and then swapping right back.
