Downpipe effects
Downpipe effects
ok so for the thousandth time, heres another dumb one. im either getting my downpipe or tune this week and i want to know if the downpipe will change my sound at all, i want to avoid any kind of fartcan-esque or civic sound. its like nails on a chalkboard to me for some reason. also with my hahn intake and downpipe i could probly be looking at near 300whp AFTER my trifecta tune i think right? probly the same torque..? or with just the intake and tune i wonder how much? i guess? anyone? thanks for the help with all my noob questions..
a catted downpipe make the car sound alittle more aggressive. not ricey at all. sounds pretty good. a catless is probably alittle louder. you'll get lots of gurgles and pops from the exhaust.
im planning on getting the maxflow dp from hahn. after that is it a MUST to tune to see any power effects? i assume so with the learn down feature.. but aggressive is good
thanks cuda joe. being from MD i guess youll hear it soon enough at a meet

well after you first put it on, and the first drive you do with it on, you will notice a difference in spool time and power increase, and a new exhaust note. after the first 12 hours, your car will figure whats up and adjust boost level to match the air flow rates on the stock tune. I saw an increase of 1 psi after getting the dp on. then it dropped a full psi from what it was stock to correct, lol.
your almost in the area, if you wanna hear what a catted dp on a stock exhaust sounds like we can meet somewhere.

im actually trying to do a meet or mini meet at hunt valley sat night i think 06g85 may come and hopefully 09whitepshhh and some of my guys. if you wana bring some buddies we'll be up there bullshitting for a while or actually jacksonville would work too since i think thats closer to bel air
yea you can with a catless, you just get a catless with a O2 bung and no code will be thrown. now if a cop approaches the car and smells the exhaust then you have a prob. go catted. I grabbed the CIA catted stainless dp.
well I will make an effort if im not doing anything, I work that day at the mall from 11am to 7pm. so if its not too late for me to go out (meaning I dont feel exhausted).
I had one behind me at a redlight yesterday he did not notice. Even if he did my car has the shell of a cat and has no DTCs so visually it looks legal (we have no emissions testing in Florida)
they're easy as crap to swap out though. Literally takes 20 minutes. I plan on swapping my catless for the catted come inspection time. Just do it 2-3 days in advance to get rid of my "not ready" codes and then swapping right back.
