Downpipe installation time

It really should not be hard at all. My car is exposed to michigan winters and i had no problem swapping downpipes on jack stands. Dont pay a shop to do it. This is how you learn.

Thanks man, I talked to my buddy and his dad works on helicopters and he said he'll help get it off, but if I still have problems I'll be sure to hit you up. I didn't really wanna bother you with it though.

When I took my stock DP off a year ago, the nuts were so bad that one of them was literally just spinning on the stud. I had to cut it off. That was fun.

I put some anti-seize on the bolts so next time we do it, if we have to, then it'll be easier, also the automatic trans fluid and acetone really works wonders lol.

My buddy had the trans fluid, and acetone was 3 dollars. Put it in a spray bottle and had a 3$ bottle of some badass penetrating oil.

Downpipe installation time

Update for future references for people.
All bolts are 15mm. The O2 sensor I'm not sure since we used an adjustable wrench to take that off
Steps: did the bottom two bolts on the back of the down pipe and left the top one in, then undid all the front bolts on the downpipe, disconnected the O2 sensor from the plug, dropped the exhaust behind the downpipe off then hangers, then took off the top bolt on the back side of the downpipe.

Use the ATF(Automatic Transmission Fluid) and acetone mix 50/50 and let it sit like 15min as sc4door suggested earlier In the thread,

use extensions (longer than 1ft if you have them some shorter ones as well),

I ended up not having to use the swivel joint,

a thread in or weld on j-pipe WILL prevent engine codes(at least it did for me.)

disconnect the O2 sensor before pulling the stock downpipe off

Swap the O2 sensor into the j-pipe on the new downpipe (with some anti-seize on the threads)

When bolting the new downpipe on I only used a 3/8th drive ratchet and put anti-seize on the threads of all the bolts.

For some of you I know this is a no brainer but there may be people like I was where you just don't fully understand how to do it yourself.

Edit: you can use a breaker bar or a 1/2" drive socket to break the bolts loose, both seemed to work but stuck with the breaker bar for the good of the socket. So if you have a breaker bar use it, if not 1/2 drive works but probably not the best for it.

The proper way to r&r the O2 sensor is with a special O2 sensor socket. But in a pinch, the crescent will do. I'd still suggest to get a socket to apply the proper torque.
