Dual Exhaust for SS/TC

Is there one out there for our cars? i didnt think we did but just wanted to double check. I saw a black ss/tc at work today and he had dual exhaust on his car and it sounded sweet! idk if it was custom or what. Both sides looked as if they would come stock on the car. They were little tips not giant ass coffee cans hanging out the back. But it sounded awesome

SLP offers this for the SS/SC, and apparently a part of the kit is instructions on how to modify the rear ground effects... or something to that effect.

To the best of my knowledge, no one offers this fir the SS/TC - but if a reputable vendor did, I'd very likely buy it...
My brother has MPx's dual setup for his C-SRT4 and it looks great!

The reason we have a single outlet is to save weight. GM blessed us with a reasonable exhaust manifold design so that we don't have horrible inefficiencies, so a single outlet is not too loud, even at 3". Adding a second outlet would be a horrible idea.

do it, it would be so cool to have dual exit on a T/C. extra horse power man. should add some vtec while you are at it.

sure if you had oversized pipes to begin with and the "Y" pipe wasn't sized correctly...

the turbo does alot of muffling already

I can't see dual exhaust adding any ponies, all it would likely do on s 4 cylinder is add turbulance wherever it split. (usually really close to the back on these cars) 3, exhaust is more than sufficient. If it's for the looks by all means go for it. But it's just more weight if your looking for performance. Plus if done incorrectly exhaust hardly comes out the passenger side.. And that looks really wierd and pretty noticable to anyone intersted in funtion..

I could - imho, if someone missed the vtec comment it would have been easy to mistake your post as being serious...

well, you're entitled to your opinion.

For some reason (likely financial) chevy rarely adopted dual exhaust to their cars, but Pontiac continued it nearly to it's end.

... just to name a few great looking & sounding "dual exhaust" (look) four bangers;
Grand Am GT
Sunfire GT
Sunbird GT

Here's MPx's great kit for the C-SRT4;

And last, but not least;

Cobalt "duals" video

okay, thanks for respecting my opinion. but performance wise, single exit on a 4 banger is very good. i just don't see ANY performance reasonwith a dual on a 4 cylinder.

To be honest, our rear end shows no sense of cohesion. It is asymetrical and I personally do not like that. I would rather a dual exhaust. I always liked the look of it. Good luck finding a kit and definitely post pics and vids if/when you do!

it's not at all about performance - at least I'm not convoluted enough to misconstrue this

it's all about looks.

think of it as having the exact same flow benefits of a Hahn or Modern Performance conventional 'catback' exhaust for our cars, but looking better.

I'm actually REALLY crossing my fingers that someone over at MPx has heard my postings on the subject, and is contemplating offering a duals setup...

If the SLP kit wasn't so expensive, I'd order it, and make it work on my car ~ I believe that only the catback flange is needed to be changed - but the 60% price increase over MPx's kit, plus having to modify it to make it work, is enough for me to make a compromise, and just buy the MPx catback.

The turbo would sound better. But this is purely for looks and maybe sound. The solstices have duals and they make some really good sounding systems for them.

you are entitled to your opinion. i don't see no MKIV supra using dual, don't see no STI running dual.

how did this turn into talk about imports?

I don't care what those cars have...

I'm pretty sure I never even remotely hinted at them.

I like the looks of duals, and that's it.

them cars never came with duals either from the factory.........hense why the aftermarket industry didnt use duals either. now look at cars like the camaro z28 and ss, mustang gt cobra etc, corvette....understandable they are totally different cars but they came with duals fromt he factory and look at all the aftermarket parts.DUALS with the exception of a few for the camaro. when was the last time you seen a corvette or mustang with a single exhaust?

now to contradict your point. the 08 09 2010 sti's run dual exhaust aswell as the evo x and genesis(correct me on that if im wrong)
