E85 tune ang Pump Gas Tune
E85 tune ang Pump Gas Tune
yep can you have both?
I mean E47
I know some ppl run the gms1 tune but then when they are in comp/ESC OFF mode they are in there aftermarkit tune. what I want to know is if I had my reg tune in the normal mode then if I hit the botton could I have the E85 tune. and if that could work would the car start if I do not have e85 in the tank just 93? Where I live there is E85 about every 10miles but If I go on a long drive out of the state or when winter comes and the e85 mix changes I would like to have my pump gas tune.
I would get the combo tune so I would still have my HP tune
thanks guys and tunners!

I think it can be done, the tables you would change would be the MAF correction or MAF freq. and the timing tables. Could be risky though if you are running the E47 and forget to hit the comp button on every start. It would be pretty lean until the ECU adjusted the trims and popped a CEL. I wouldn't risk it.

If you are going to switch back & forth you need access to your own HP Tuners software so you can correct the fueling as needed. Unless you run it bone dry going back to 93 from E47, the fuel trims will be several percent off for a tank or two. Going from 93 to E47 isn't as bad since at half a tank you can fill with E85 ~6.6 gals.
What you are proposing may work but I don't write nor do I have the switchable tune software. Contact your Trifecta dealer or Vince about it.

Ive been looking into running a second fuel system, tank and everything, and having fuel injectors drilled into my intake mani, then run e85 in the 2nd fuel system and 91 in the regular fuel system. Then some how wire it up so when i hit the traction controll button into comp mode the e85 system turns on and i run a totally different map for just e85. And when i wanna run on just 91 i leave the comp mode off.
Pricing on it looks to be more than its even worth tho so im kinda throwing that idea in the trash.

I think you would need a Trifecta switchable tunable base file and the HPT write cal on top of it. Too much $$$ and trouble IMO. I'm still running 47% E in the winter here with no issues yet down into the single digit temps, but I can load the 93 tune any time I need to.

Anything >60% can be hard to start, so far no issues on the 1:1 mix here.
It takes E10 93 + E85 to yield E47.5 BTW, not all areas have E10 93, so if it's straight gasoline you would be at 42.5%E 1:1 mixed.
Colder climates can blend the E85 down to 70%, so that lowers the E content some more, down into the upper 30% range.
The long term fuel trims (LTFT's) will compensate for temp changes fine if you get tuned in the mid temp range.
If you are not tuning it yourself, I'd wait until spring.

I am not tuning it I would have Matt tune it from ZZP I live like 45mins away.
Is there a way to see what kind of fuel I have in SW MI.
if I get tune in 65* wether and my fuel never changes would I been fine with a tune or would I still want to be logging my car often?
thanks a lot Iam broke you are very helpfull
Michigan does not require labeling of Ethanol in the gasoline, odds are it all is E10. Indiana law doesn't require it either.

If you tune around that temperature, you will probably be fine. I'm **** and log mine often.
