in an effort to clean up the engine bay..

I cut off and smoothed all the bolt locations I will not be using as well as the exterior seams.. I need alil bit more smoothing, then ill prime and paint it with engine enamel, Maybe a gunmetal color. along with the valve cover in the same color. Ill get pics up when its completed. Thought this would be alil different too, havent seen it at all. What do fellas think?

PS. dont mind the duct tape.

Not something I would ever do, but it ought to look cool. Sounds like a lot of work.

I have the stock one for sale asking 115 shipped. Or I could remove unwanted mounting posts and the the external seems for 200shipped. please PM me for details

some were for the HHR intake if i had that car,2 were for the BPV controller. which i no longer need. the ones on either side were for a bracket i no longer use. then there was one i have no idea. cuz the HHR solstice and the cobalts dont use it.

I saw that vht black at advanced auto, I really like how it turned out on yours, I may do my exhaust mani

btw is that a custom heat shield on the filter, looks like the steel would create an oven effect making more heat around the filter?

Now why dont you use the BPV Controller? What did you do with most of the hoses like the ones that runs to the lower pipe?

How did the intake Valves look when you had the manifold off? I'm curious because the way these DI motors work there is nothing to clean the valves IE: fuel. I'm wondering if i should take the intake off and clean them myself . How many miles are on your car? thanks !

the only vacuum lines on the intake are for the BPV and the brake booster. both are still present. the Intake on there is a airbox from Spectre, its a cone filter inside. but the box keeps the intake a lil quieter during cold starts and keeps the BPV quieter too. I havent noticed any penalty in air flow versus the open filter I had on there. and the MAF is relocated to the cold side piping.
the cold side piping nipple is capped off since the BPV is straight to manifold now.

the valves looked alright. not gunked up, but not nearly as clean as a traditional fuel injector system. Car just passed 33000 miles right b4 I put this manifold on. that space between the 2cyl and 3cyl intake runners is actually were a 2nd PCV valve is. I allows vapors to be sucked in undervacuum conditions. but closes under boost. I imagine that a lot of oil gets into the intake tract from there. I thought about closing it up, but decided against it. not knowing exactly how well the other two lines work.
