Electric cutout

Ok so CIA has the option for a cut out.

I have ordered this but I am stumped on how to make it electric.

i looekd up DMH performance but I dont know if that will work.

i really dont want to have to unbolt this thing every time i want to run out of the DP.

any suggestions?

You need to order/install an electric cut out to bolt up to it, so you just flick a switch and voila, open dp!

Pretty sure I read somewhere that CIA had a company they recommended for the electric cut-out but not postive. Shoot them a PM and see if they recommend someone.

DMH or QTP are the two normal e-cutout brands. Easy to wire up. You need to run a switch into the interior (so you can trigger it) and feed it power, thats it.

the cutout is a small flange like TB w/ motor that just bolts onto whatever 3 bolt flange you have on your y-pipe. just make sure to get the same size as your y-pipe from DMH, where I bought mine from

e-cutout

y-pipe

simple right? the e-cutout part replaces that blockoff plate you see

You might want to make sure you're getting a quality part. That electric cutout is in a bad spot thermally. It gets hot there. Electrical parts and high temps are not the best of friends. I don't know how you would determine which one is a higher quality other than going with one that somebody here on the forum is using and can attest to. JMHO

for sure man

my friend used DMH on his 72 camaro

ran the electric cutouts right after the headers on his 383 stroker.

he reccomended it to me. he said he would help me on the install too

mmmm im going to like this. lol

also a 3 yr warranty on it too

a lot more heat coming from the engine than the Dp

Google QTP cutout, they are probably the biggest e-cutout supplier. DMH seems to be the 2nd largest. I seem to see less complaints about the DMH than the QTP, but there are still complaints about both of them. Most of the complaints are about sealing, which with a seal like both of them do you will never have a perfect seal. Its actually not that great of a design, but its simple and works well enough.
