Electric cutout

Any one running a cutout precat?

Is there room for a cutout precat?

You can get it to fit, but its not worth it and it will probably leak right away or after it gets carbon build up. You will get minimal gains and when it starts to leak it will drive you nuts lol.

Have one, replaced 6 times now. Flap open and speed bumps dont get along. Going over slowly makes it worse. ... No fuc*s were given. But honestly, I don't suggest it..

Yup, my buddies got stuck open because the little motor burned up in it. I wouldnt ever get one because all I ever hear is bad things.

not worth the hassle.... your better off building your own down pipe for a perfect fit. where i had mine with the big turbo was perfect. its a waste of the stock turbo unless u want it for noise.

You have to put it on the last bend of the dp and it will stick out a few inches.

Cuts outs are a waste unless you just want one and have the money to spend on one. Mine lasted about a month or so untill the plastic casing around the motor broke from hitting bumps and vibrations i guess.

I would just want one for the pure fact of going stealth. Cops hate aftermarket exhausts, so do inspection techs. Quiet the thing up then unlease a MONSTER!

normally when i want my car to be loud i just walk to the back, crawl under the back and take the 3 bolts off holding the muffler on. These phases normally dont even last a week though, it gets too damn loud.

Really dont know if it was a cheap brand or not. I got the one off the modern performance website. Its just the plastic that covers the electric motor cracked off around the bolts that hold it on. It still worked after that I was just bored with it.

Dont really a bad idea. It does have its perks. I liked pulling up to the red light next to old people or just anyone with their windows down and opening the cut out. Also it makes your car seem alot faster

I've had my QTP cutout on my car for about 3 years now...still works great...I even ran over a bear and bent it all to hell, straightened it out and it still works great.

I don't drive my car in the winter, so I can't speak to how that will affect it..but other than that its great. It does leak slightly, but ever other day if I haven't opened it up, I just push the button "closed" and the leak goes away.

Some food for thought tho, back before when my car was mostly stock I dyno'd the cutout back to back. (exhaust consisted of a 4-1 header, no cat and 2.25" piping to a borla straight through muffler, cut out was installed in approximately the factory cat location) (Car is an '05 Sunfire with a 2.2 Ecotec BTW)

Cut-out Closed: 160whp 137wtq

Cut-out Open: 169whp 151wtq

9whp 14wtq increase with the Cut-out open.

So for the people that say "its not worth it", I tend to disagree.

I have a turbod Balt so even with open it won't be totally obnoxious, and I have air ride so speed bumps won't destroy it

Lol yea I caught that 2 lol

What bear is small enough u can drive over and drive away lol

I'm doing a turbo swap and built head with a 8000rpm redline so it'd be nice to be able to open up the exhaust before the cat if I could

Your open dump with that build will be plenty loud enough, you will hear that over your open cut out, trust me.
