hey guys i had my 08 sstc for about a month now and got just under 3500 miles on it and about 1000 miles ago while pulling out of my drive way the esc service light came on and i dont kno why i didnt get on it or anything...brought it to the dealer and they said that they had to look further into the problem meaning that gay light is still on and still flashes at me everytime i start my car

my question to all the other ss guys out there is did this happen to you and if so how did you get it off i was told to disconnect the battery but i dont really wanna do that and have to reset anything...other then that aweseome car go trade in your sc ls lts for it lmao thanks guys

We can't tell you a thing until we know what codes were thrown.

Hope it works out well for you.

Investment !!! That made my day.

Investment is a car with a CEL and from a dying auto company. Lord. You should have been a comedian.

EDIT: in all seriousness. Some people find it easier to go get the codes read at Autozone or something before dealer. Sometimes the fix is simple and can be remedied by asking people on here.

One thing I have been taught about car purchases is this.

Either you pay more for the car and get a lower interest rate or you pay less up front and get a higher interest rate. The car companies still get their money and most people go on in life thinking they got a better deal. It's all the same. Best thing to do it get higher interest rate at lower price and pay off car a little faster.

I've had several GM cars. It's usually a $60.00 relay or sensor. If you're gonna "invest" in something, should be a scan tool. Luckily, your warranty has your back. Good luck and hope it's not going to be a common problem.

I have the same issue. A little different in that mine comes and goes. So... at least yours is on all the time. I'm just gonna head over to the dealer one time when it pops on so maybe they can isolate it.

onstar will not be able to turn it off, but they MAY be able to read the code(s)

what brand scanner did your buddy use, most cheaper ones that you can get at auto parts stores only read the ECM. ESC would not be done by the ECM, but i don't know the name of the module that does.

Pretty much.

Difference is mine goes away. For example; It didn't come on at all today. Yesterday it came on any time I got in the damn thing. I may be able to drive for 10 minutes and then it will pop on. Sometimes I can restart the car and it is gone. Sometimes after a restart it's still there... and even further... sometimes after a restart it will remain for a few minutes and go off.
It's VERY VERY VERY irritating. I really don't want it to do this crap when there's snow. No snow yet thankfully.

Ferretts - I will do that next time. Thank you very much for the tip!

It has to be a sensor issue on the electronic steering.
