Eventual trade in for 07 STI (I hope)

Wish I tried to keep my 06 STi but I didn't and traded in for 09 sstc. Financial situation and I panicked. Anyhow its hard to go from an sti to a balt so I was thinkin maybe and I mean maybe, if financial situation is good, going for an 07 sti. 07 bc of the vf43 turbo with the bigger wastegate. ecu map is crap for that year but cobb stage 2 fixes it. Also longer gears, second up to 60mph.and solid mounts no liquid filled. Lookin for 50000 mile example can't afford a really low mile one. Keep thinkin bout it, like a white one. Had a black one previously. Speakin of, know the guy that bought my old sti. It has 330/380 to the wheels. He wants to roll race me (I have stage 1 with muff delete) wondering if I can hang with him??? Regrets, regrets, but as they say everything for a reason......

Depends on what you have done to your car. I beat an 05 STI claiming 330whp on 21psi.. I didn't blow his doors in, but I beat him 3 out of 3 races none the less..

believe it or not, a lease!! absolute zero dollars down and they took a lancer ralliart which I owed 15 grand on. they paid off lancer and got me in sti for 550 a month for 48 months. insurance in nj was 1350 a year through NJ manufacturers. cobalt is around 375 a month with zero down for 72 months and my insurance with same company is now 1250 a year.

Lease? Ralliart to a STI to a SS/TC? That makes 3 seperate cars in less than 2 years...Are you leasing the SS as well? If not, keep it. I believe you are starting to dig a financial and automotive hole, IMO. I will be trading my SS in once Toyobaru gets their **** together, or if they beef up the STI hatch in the next 2 years. The difference in you and I is I am waiting until I owe way less then what they will give me for the car, so I can gain in the trade. Sleep on it a little, and if you still think you REALLY want it, then get it. No sense in keeping a car you are completely unsatisifed with.

Actually the ralliart I financed with money down in 05 and kept that for almost a year and was offered the sti as a lease. Kept the sti for 3.5 years and traded in for a sstc bc of switch in jobs with pay cut and also the fact I was paying for my wedding and honeymoon with cash. So I'm not that into debt. Have the sstc as a finance not lease and have it for a year so far and plan on keeping it for another 2 years or so after paying it off more. Its all just a thought right now and will take it day by day.thanx for the advice

I had a Legacy GT with a Dominator 3, meth, and all sorts of other goodies on it. I don't miss it. Forget Subaru. The boxer setup is miserable to deal with. You do realize that 07's are the worst year STi to get right? Go look up how many people are cracking ring lands on 07's. If you really want one, I have a friend that has an 06 with a P&L rotated kit plus meth that wants to sell his car. He feels the same way I do. Screw Subaru and their ticking time bomb setup.

The Cobalt is/was the hottest deal out there that no one knows about. Lightweight (good luck finding another car that weighs under 3000 lbs), great suspension setup, and a stout engine. I cross shopped an odd selection of cars, including the Evo X, 135, MS3, and this car was my favorite.

I still can't believe how easy it is the throw this car around a turn. Best handling car I have ever owned.
